  • Roots & Culture: Cultural Impacts on Health and Well-Being

Culture: the customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group. For example, Caribbean culture, Male culture, American culture.

In this episode, Entrepreneur, IT Consultant, and Traveler Stan Louissaint, comes back to the Men Talk About space to discuss the impacts of culture on health and well-being.  This conversation is an extension or a phone call Stan and I had about my last podcast about heart matters.  In that phone call we started to discuss the subtle and insidious ways our culture impacts what we eat, how we eat, and how we shame others that are making healthy choices.

My intention is for this conversation to bring awareness to how Culture impacts our health and eating habits.  In my judgement, it's an area few address, and it's an area that wreaks havoc on many that want better for themselves.  It's interesting to me, and I'm curious if culture has had an impact on your decisions in how you take care of yourself.  Bring awareness to this in your life and if your culture is counterproductive to you betterment, then start shifting your culture...period.

Enjoy the convo and check in with My Guy Stan on IG @stanlouissaint or on his website www.fluiddesigns.com

  • The Heart of the Matter: Real Talk about the Organ that Impacts Us All

Let's get to the Heart of the Matter.  When I think about the many times I use that phrase, I realize it lost its meaning until I did this podcast session with Registered Nurse, Andrew W. Trexler.  Andrew has a passion about discussing the heart, how it functions, how it supports us, and how magical it really is.  Andrew has been appointed to my Health Crew after I got a message from him after I was in the hospital for high blood pressure.  After connecting with him, I realized how much he cares, how much he loves to educate, and how genuine he is in his mission to serve others.  It was a lock to have him in my Health Crew and a lock to get him on this podcast, to share information and insight that I judge will be helpful for many.

So if you are hypertensive, know something that is hypertensive, give this episode a listen and share it with others.  The information we share about Heart disease, hypertension, and health in general, can save someone's life.

Thank you as always for listening and for your support.  Blessings to you and here's to our health!!

  • The Man In The Maze: A Journey Into Life's Labryinth and the Dark Night of The Soul

When this episode was recorded it was May 2021, and Mental Health Awareness Month.  Prior to recording this podcast my Guest, Michael Bilkis, and I had a deep convo on where he is in life.  He stated a phrase that resonated with me and I KNEW, it was a topic to discuss on Men Talk About, so here it is.

Michael Bilkis is a Doctor, EFT Practitioner, Shaman Practitioner, Transformational Coach, Husband, and Father.  I admire and adore this Man can consider him one of my Brothers.  This conversation is really a glimpse into one of the regular conversation that Michael and I have.  And I'm fortunate for technology to share these words about those uncertain times in life that may feel uncomfortable and bring up feelings of anger, sadness.  We all go through challenges, yet most resist discussing it, and that my friends could contribute to the suicide statistics for Men.
