Your Heard Tell Show forFriday, September the 23th, 2022 is turning down the noise of the news cycle and getting to the information we need to discern the times we live by getting to what's really going on in elections and polling places, how the death of a woman at the hands of the "morality police" is sparking protests in Iran, and a massive welfare fraud case in Mississippi that involves one of the biggest names in sports, while another sports legend uses one of his greatest achievements to continually raise money for others.
We go to Iran, where the death of Mahsa Amini while in the custody of the "morality police" is sparking massive protests, outrage, and driven the regime to enact an internet blackout. We'll talk the scenes of women burning their hajabs and publicly cutting their hair in protests, the deadly crackdown underway, compare to past protests like 2019, and what it means for the Iranian people living under the brutal, wicked regime.
Meanwhile down in Mississippi, former director of Mississippi's welfare agency has plead guilty to federal fraud charges, after millions of dollars in funding was missuesed, and is now cooperating with officials in an expanding investigation that has ensnared the University of Southern Mississippi and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre.
Our guest today is returning Heard Tell favorite and elections expert Genya Coulter. Genya helps us go beyond the headlines and noise surrounding elections and takes us inside the polling places and behind the scenes of how elections really work to talk election security, bad faith actors, hard working and often overwhelmed volunteers, poll watchers, and more. Genya also talks about what is getting better about elections, debunks some conspiracy theories, and gives us some key things to watch for in the upcoming midterms and any shennanigans that might ensue.
Plus, Tim Tebow is know for his charity work, but it turns out the Heisman Trophy winner hasn't actually had the trophy himself in many years, as he continually "auctions off" the hardware to various folks temporarily as a continuing fundraiser for his charity endeavors.
All that and more on this Friday edition of Heard Tell.
