Your Heard Tell Show forFriday, September the 23th, 2022 is turning down the noise of the news cycle and getting to the information we need to discern the times we live by getting to what's really going on in elections and polling places, how the death of a woman at the hands of the "morality police" is sparking protests in Iran, and a massive welfare fraud case in Mississippi that involves one of the biggest names in sports, while another sports legend uses one of his greatest achievements to continually raise money for others.
We go to Iran, where the death of Mahsa Amini while in the custody of the "morality police" is sparking massive protests, outrage, and driven the regime to enact an internet blackout. We'll talk the scenes of women burning their hajabs and publicly cutting their hair in protests, the deadly crackdown underway, compare to past protests like 2019, and what it means for the Iranian people living under the brutal, wicked regime.
Meanwhile down in Mississippi, former director of Mississippi's welfare agency has plead guilty to federal fraud charges, after millions of dollars in funding was missuesed, and is now cooperating with officials in an expanding investigation that has ensnared the University of Southern Mississippi and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre.
Our guest today is returning Heard Tell favorite and elections expert Genya Coulter. Genya helps us go beyond the headlines and noise surrounding elections and takes us inside the polling places and behind the scenes of how elections really work to talk election security, bad faith actors, hard working and often overwhelmed volunteers, poll watchers, and more. Plus, Tim Tebow is know for his charity work, but it turns out the Heisman Trophy winner hasn't actually had the trophy himself in many years, as he continually "auctions off" the hardware to various folks temporarily as a continuing fundraiser for his charity endeavors.
All that and more on this Friday edition of Heard Tell.

On this Heard Tell Good Talks, our guest today is Daniel Chang Contreras who helps us turn down the very loud stories of Martha's Vineyard and other high-profile stunts involving immigrants to get to the people that are actually being moved around here. Daniel and host Andrew talk about the Venezuelanian aspect of this story, why this facet of immigration crisis was very predictable, the legal and moral importance and differences in being asylum seekers, and why this specific people group is being used for such stunts. Daniel also talks about the inherent problems in the immigration system from policy, to law, to incoherent messaging that is the root problems before you get to issues like the southern border, sanctuary cities, and governor's looking to raise their national profiles off the issue. Daniel also talks about how there are some on the right who love to point out the evils of authoritarian communism, but are starting to run the same old playbook of stereotypes and smeers again the actual victims of those regimes like the Venezuelan asylum seekers.
