With yet another abuse scandal in the news, this time in the Southern Baptist Convention, we turn to our friend Jennifer Greenberg, an author, advocate, and speaker who explains how abusers use power structures to control both their victims and leverage people around them to cover their wickedness. Jennifer also worked with and was a part of Dr. Russell Moore's attempts to raise awareness at abuse issues inside the SBC, so we will ask her directly about his resignation and letters that detailed the issues inside America's largest protestant denomination. Plus, on a lighter note, how does a nice young lady like her wind up recording Swedish heavy metal cover songs.

Cybersecurity is all over the news and discourse, so we turn to our friend John McCumber, who has been doing cybersecurity since before it was even called that. How terminology and meaning of words puts us on a bad footing discussing security to start with, public/private dynamic between the government and companies, what those consultants are really doing and looking for, and we also touch on John's military career and cries that the military is getting "too woke" from his perspective and experience.
Of all the bad takes on the interwebs, bad legal takes on social media are truly having a field day right now. Our friend and lawyer Em Carpenter joins us in her ongoing quest to set the record straight on what HIPAA does and does not do, what Krispy Kreme donuts have to do with the Nurnberg Codes (hint: rhymes with stuffing) and why understanding the law constrains her political opinions on some really heated debate about current events.
Pieces by Em mentioned:

Wednesday Writs: The Willy-nilly Invocation of The Nuremberg Codes Edition
Them’s Fightin’ Words: The First Amendment and Incitement

You might have heard tell there is still a lot of talk about the last election even though some parts have started working on this years, and many folks look ahead to 2022, 2024, and beyond. We turn down the noise on the debates surround the 2020 election, legislation like HR1 and HR4 in Congress, actions by states, and all sorts or takes and conspiracy theories and turn up the information with writer, poll worker, election expert, and noted Ballot Fairy Genya Coulter on how elections really work, what happened in 2020, and what needs to happen going forward to maintain the foundational piece to our system of government, free and fair elections.
Genya's articles mentioned:
The Ballad of the Magical Ballot Fairies at Ordinary Times
Turning NBA arenas into polling places might be a disaster in The Washington Post
H.R. 1: The Good, The Bad, and The WTF in Elections Daily
