How to Stop Negative Thought Loops and Overthinking: Healing the Inner Child
Do you ever get caught in negative thought loops that seem to consume all your energy? You question yourself, overthink your relationships, and wonder whether you have done something wrong. When someone you love shows up feeling angry, distant or drained, you immediately make it about yourself.
And underneath it all, you are just tired. Tired of overthinking. Tired of doubting yourself. Tired of wanting peace but not knowing how to find it.
In this episode of the Heart Alignment Podcast, I share an honest, coaching inspired exploration of these patterns through the lens of inner child healing and somatic awareness.
What if your negative thoughts are not the actual problem, but a symptom of something deeper?
Together, we explore how old emotional stories can continue to shape the way we experience ourselves and our relationships. We look at the physical sensations that arise when we get caught in a loop, why certain patterns keep repeating, and how the parts of us that once learned to protect ourselves can still be running the show today.
Most importantly, we explore how to find your empowered self again. How to question the stories you have been living by. How to stop automatically taking responsibility for everyone else’s feelings. And how to begin creating a new relationship with yourself and the people you love.
This episode is a coaching session shared without the listener being present, so I cannot know exactly what resonates for them. But if you recognize yourself in this question, perhaps there is something here for you, too.
You do not have to believe every thought you have. And you do not have to keep living inside an old story.
Sometimes, peace begins when we get curious about what our patterns are trying to tell us.
Listen in, take what resonates, and give yourself permission to write a new story.

What happens when the person we used to be no longer feels like who we are? When a dream never comes true, our bodies change, or life takes us somewhere we never expected to go?
In this episode of the Heart Alignment Podcast, we explore the quiet grief of aging, letting go of an old version of ourselves, and mourning the dreams that never became our reality.
But what if the deepest suffering doesn’t come from what we have lost, but from our struggle to accept that things have changed?
We can spend years trying to return to who we were, chasing a life we imagined, or measuring ourselves against impossible expectations. Meanwhile, life is asking us to meet ourselves where we are.
I share a different perspective on grief, resistance, and the freedom that becomes possible when we begin to practise acceptance and unconditional love for ourselves.
We also explore how the people around us, social media, beauty standards, and a society obsessed with youth can make it harder to embrace our natural evolution. Sometimes, the work isn’t simply learning to accept ourselves. It’s learning to set boundaries with the environments that keep telling us we aren’t enough.
Because growing older isn’t a failure. Changing your mind isn’t a failure. Outgrowing an old identity isn’t a failure. And a dream that never came true doesn’t mean your life has failed.
Perhaps the invitation is to stop fighting the person you once were, stop punishing yourself for the life you didn’t have, and begin loving the person you are becoming.
In this episode, we explore:
You don’t have to love every change. You don’t have to pretend that loss doesn’t hurt. But you can learn to stop abandoning yourself in the process.
Welcome to the Heart Alignment Podcast. A space for honest conversations about being human, navigating change, and coming home to yourself.

When someone makes you question your reality, can you still trust yourself?
Labels can be incredibly helpful. They give us language for complex behaviours that we may have struggled to understand for years. But they can also become a trap. Human beings are far more complex than a label, and labelling someone without looking deeper can prevent us from seeing the whole picture.
And yet, understanding complexity does not mean excusing harmful behaviour.
In this episode of the Heart Alignment Podcast, I open up about a vulnerable personal experience of being gaslit and reflect on what it takes to stand your ground when someone challenges your reality, disrespects your boundaries, or responds to your truth with emotional, verbal, or intellectual aggression.
We explore the courage it takes to know your boundaries, communicate them clearly, and give yourself permission to stand by them, even when someone doesn’t like what you have to say.
Because here is the truth: You do not need someone else’s permission to protect your peace.
We talk about the importance of trusting your own perception, regulating your nervous system when conflict leaves you shaken, and seeking support when you feel confused, isolated, or unsafe.
We also explore something equally important:
knowing when to walk away.
Not every battle is yours to fight. Not every person is ready to take responsibility for their behaviour. And not every relationship can be healed through better communication alone.
Yes, we heal together. There is something profoundly healing about being witnessed, understood, and supported by another human being. But sometimes, another person’s healing is not ours to manage. Sometimes, the most loving thing we can do for ourselves is to step away and let them do their own work.
This episode is an invitation to stop abandoning yourself in the hope of being understood by someone who isn’t willing to listen.
To honour your boundaries without losing your compassion.
And to remember that you can be a kind, understanding person without making yourself available for mistreatment.
You are allowed to speak up. You are allowed to seek support. You are allowed to leave. And you are allowed to trust yourself.

What if the part of you that you learned to hide is exactly what the world needs from you now?
Somewhere along the way, many of us learned which parts of ourselves were celebrated and which ones were better kept quiet. Maybe you were too sensitive, too quiet, too intense, too dreamy, too slow, too different. So you adapted. You became who you thought you needed to be to belong.
But what if your superpower was never meant to look like everyone else’s?
In this episode of the Heart Alignment Podcast, we explore the hidden gifts we have suppressed in our attempt to fit into a world that often rewards being loud over being present, efficiency over depth, and constant activity over simply being.
I share a vulnerable part of my own journey of reclaiming my superpower: the ability to bring calmness, nervous system regulation, groundedness, and spaciousness into a conversation or a room. I thrive in silence, depth, and the moments when nothing needs to be filled.
And yet, I still find myself navigating the discomfort when others rush to fill the very silence I am trying to create. It can feel frustrating. It can feel painful. And it challenges me to remain rooted in what I know I bring, even when it is not immediately recognised.
Because reclaiming your superpower is not just about discovering what makes you different. It is about having the courage to stop abandoning it just because someone else does not understand it.
Perhaps your gift is your sensitivity. Your intuition. Your ability to listen deeply, ask the uncomfortable question, bring people together, challenge the status quo, or create safety where others feel exposed.
Perhaps you have spent years trying to fix the very thing that makes you extraordinary.
As our relationships and collective ways of connecting continue to evolve, I believe we need more people who dare to bring their authentic gifts into the world.
Not by becoming louder. Not by becoming someone else. But by becoming more fully themselves.
In this episode, I invite you to reflect:• What part of yourself did you learn to suppress to be accepted?• What comes naturally to you that you have mistaken for weakness?• Where are you still waiting for permission to be who you are?• And what might change if you stopped trying to fit in and started trusting the power you already carry?
Your superpower might not be missing. It might simply be waiting for you to come home to it.
Listen in, reconnect with the parts of yourself you left behind, and give your unique way of being the space it deserves.

For far too long, women’s health has been understood through a system that was largely built around the male body.
But a woman’s body is not simply a smaller version of a man’s body.
In this powerful and eye opening conversation, I sit down with Jim Anderson, heart health advocate, Advanced Care Paramedic, firefighter, and founder of StrongHER Hearts, to talk about something every woman deserves to understand: Her Heart.
Jim shares why heart disease and heart attacks can look very different in women, why so many symptoms are misunderstood or dismissed, and what women need to know when something in their body simply does not feel right.
We explore the warning signs of heart attacks in women, the gaps that still exist in women’s health research and care, and the growing importance of women learning to advocate for themselves.
This conversation is not about living in fear of your body.
It is about learning to listen to it.
It is about asking questions.
It is about trusting yourself enough to say, “Something doesn’t feel right,” and continuing to seek answers.
Women’s health is changing. Women are asking more questions, challenging outdated assumptions, and beginning to understand that our bodies have their own unique needs, risks, symptoms, and stories.
Your heart is one of them.
This is a conversation every woman should hear. And perhaps even more importantly, every person who cares about a woman should share.

What if the decisions you make, the relationships you choose, the things you tolerate, and even the good things you push away are all influenced by one thing you rarely stop to examine?
Your sense of self worth.
In this episode, I explore what happens when that inner sense of worth becomes quiet. When you no longer really feel yourself. When you have forgotten who you are somewhere along the way.
This can show up in very different ways.
For women, especially during perimenopause and the transition into midlife, it can feel like losing connection with the woman you used to be.
For men, it can show up as a midlife crisis, addiction, achievement, withdrawal, anger, or the feeling that you have somehow lost yourself.
And underneath all of it can be the same painful question:
“Am I actually worthy of having a good life?”
When we do not feel worthy, we often make very different choices. We tolerate what hurts us. We reject what nourishes us. We struggle to receive love, pleasure, support, success, intimacy, and goodness when they are offered to us.
But self worth is not just a thought.
It lives in the body.
So in this episode, I invite you to notice what happens inside your body when something good comes toward you and you cannot quite let it in.
And then I invite you to imagine turning up the volume on your own sense of worth.
What changes?
How do you breathe?
How do you make decisions?
How do you relate to yourself?
How do you love?
How do you allow yourself to receive?
Because perhaps self worth is not something you need to find.
Perhaps it is something you need to stop turning down.

Every relationship has moments where we lose our way.
A conversation goes wrong.Someone feels unseen.Trust gets shaken.A wound gets touched.
The truth is, we cannot avoid rupture. Not if we are truly participating in relationships. We are human, and being human means we will sometimes disappoint each other, misunderstand each other, and cause pain even when love is present.
But what happens next?
That is where the real work begins.
In this episode of Heart Alignment, I explore the healing power of rupture and repair and why our ability to come back together can determine the depth, safety, and resilience of our relationships.
Whether it is a romantic partnership, friendship, family relationship, business connection, or even the relationship we have with ourselves, repair is one of the most important skills we can develop.
I share personal experiences from my own life, not to expose anyone or tell someone else’s story, but to offer honest reflections on moments where hurt happened, where repair happened beautifully, and where repair was not possible.
Because sometimes healing comes through reconnection.
And sometimes healing comes through accepting what cannot be changed.
This episode is an invitation to look inward:
Are there conversations you are avoiding? Are there places where you could take more ownership? Are there moments where an apology, accountability, or deeper understanding could create healing?
We are not meant to move through life without causing or experiencing hurt.
We are meant to learn how to meet those moments with awareness, compassion, and courage.
Because relationships are not built by avoiding rupture.
They are built by learning how to repair.

What if one of the most powerful forces within you has very little to do with sex itself?
In this episode, we explore sexual energy through a completely different lens. Not as something to fear, suppress, or perform, but as the life force that fuels creativity, intimacy, confidence, healing, and authentic expression.
We unpack why so many of us have become disconnected from this part of ourselves, how shame quietly shapes our relationships, and what begins to shift when we reconnect with our bodies in a safe and grounded way.
This conversation is gentle, trauma informed, and deeply human. Whether you’re single, partnered, or somewhere in between, you’ll be invited to see this energy with fresh eyes and perhaps discover that what you’ve been searching for has been within you all along.
This episode is not about becoming someone new.
It’s about remembering who you already are.

What if confidence isn’t something you build by thinking more positively?
What if real confidence is built by becoming deeply intimate with your own emotional world?
In this episode, Aurora explores emotional courage through a trauma informed, somatic lens.
Many of us spend years trying to become more confident by changing our mindset, standing taller, speaking louder, or collecting more personal development tools. While these approaches can help, they often stay on the surface.
Real confidence begins somewhere much deeper.
It begins the moment you stop running from your emotions.
When you learn to stay present with fear, grief, shame, disappointment, anger, and uncertainty instead of escaping, fixing, distracting, or performing, your nervous system discovers something remarkable.
“I can survive this.”
From that place, confidence is no longer something you perform.
It becomes something you embody.
This conversation is especially for those who keep investing in workshops, retreats, certifications, books, and self improvement, yet still feel like something is missing.
Parents.
Entrepreneurs.
High achievers.
The ones who hold everyone else together while quietly feeling disconnected from themselves.
This episode offers a different path.
One that is slower.
Messier.
More courageous.
And infinitely more sustainable.
Because true power is not the absence of emotion.
It is your capacity to stay with yourself through all of it.

People pleasing isn’t your personality. It’s a survival strategy.
In this episode, I explore people pleasing through the lens of the nervous system and the body, rather than judgment or self improvement.
I share what people pleasing actually feels like on a somatic level, why so many of us learned to prioritize other people’s comfort over our own truth, and why this deeply intelligent coping mechanism may no longer be serving us.
Together, we’ll explore the quiet shift from seeking approval to cultivating grounded, authentic presence. A place where saying no no longer feels dangerous, where connection becomes more honest, and where peace is no longer dependent on keeping everyone else happy.
The greatest surprise on this journey is that letting go of people pleasing doesn’t create more distance in our relationships. It creates more depth.
If you’ve ever struggled with guilt, conflict, perfectionism, or the fear of disappointing others, this conversation is an invitation to come home to yourself with compassion.
Because true connection doesn’t begin when everyone approves of you.
It begins when you stop abandoning yourself.
