Dorothy Kuhn has been a guest expert on TV, international radio, and podcasts. She helps entrepreneurs, professionals and community leaders stand out and lead effectively. Having graduated in Physics and Math, she won her first professional position knowing more about quantum mechanics than anyone else. But in spite of her solid education and smart, friendly ways, Dorothy struggled to lead in a way that others wanted to follow. What was the problem? Was it because she was a powerful, well-educated woman with a lot of potential?
What opened the door for Dorothy’s career advancement was her background in science, church and community service, plus her eye for patterns and love of simple solutions. She was honored to be Texas Instruments’ representative to Carnegie Mellon University, where she co-authored the industry standard in Systems Engineering with the Department of Defense, and served as Product Manager for its assessment method. She spearheaded the turn-around of select military projects back at Texas Instruments, leading with focus, purpose and fun. So whenever you’re in doubt, just take one look at Dorothy’s impressive career – and always remember that gender is not a barrier to greatness.
