Anna Strahs Watts is a financial advisor with a yogi mindset! With more than 10 years of experience working with small businesses and Richmond nonprofits, Anna’s passion is helping people invest their money sustainably, and in a way that reflects their values. While there are never guarantees when it comes to the market, research shows that sustainable investing does not have to equal sacrificed returns.
Anna received her 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certificate (a master’s degree in yoga) while abroad in Rishikesh, India, and spent the second half of 2016 teaching yoga and meditation at Hariharalaya Retreat Centre in Cambodia. These experiences combined with the lessons taught in the practice of yoga provide a framework for decision making that she applies both on and off the mat.
In this episode, Louisa and Anna talk about Anna’s story of integrating yoga principles and practices into the world of finance, how people are investing their money sustainably, how the events of 2020 have impacted these patterns, and how we can reinvent our financial perspectives and approach money and finances in heart-centered and intentional ways.

Investing involves risk and you may incur a profit or loss regardless of the strategy selected. Sustainable/Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) considers qualitative environmental, social, and corporate governance, also known as ESG criteria, which may be subjective in nature. There are additional risks associated with Sustainable/Socially Responsible Investing (SRI), including limited diversification and the potential for increased volatility. There is no guarantee that SRI products or strategies will produce returns similar to traditional investments. Because SRI criteria exclude certain securities/products for non-financial reasons, investors may forego some market opportunities available to those who do not use these criteria. Every investor’s situation is unique and you should consider your investment goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon before making any investment. Investors should consult their investment professional prior to making an investment decision.
