We can’t receive the microwaved version of our walk with God. This relationship takes time to develop. It takes time to learn the voice of the Holy Spirit. And it takes God time to continue to mold us to look more and more like Christ.

In the Bible, Jesus warns about false prophets who appear to have good intentions but are actually- really bad news. He uses a parable of good and bad trees, and He says by their fruit, we’ll recognize them. Our actions and our words are the fruit we produce to those around us.

We can’t always stop the wildfires of tragedy and challenge in our life. Many times we don’t even realize they’re coming. But in the midst of these trials my faith in our Heavenly Father remains the resilient tree in the middle of a charred forest. If we were to truly trust, hope and love the way the Bible encourages- we will see miraculous restoration in the world around us.

Sometimes as people we just feel separate or disconnected from those around us. We may try to fill that void with the noise of social media or the endless available streaming content, but next time you feel this disconnect, why not pause and embrace the silence for a moment?

But- Maybe this quiet isn’t a punishment; maybe it’s an opportunity to find a deeper connection, one with the Creator of the universe Himself. In Jeremiah 29:13, God tells His people,

Proverbs chapter 3 encourages believers to trust the Lord with all our heart and rely not on our own understanding. Maybe you have yet to see a breakthrough you’ve been praying for. Keep praying. Keep believing. And keep trusting in your Heavenly Father. His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you. To give you hope and a future.

God, your Word in Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid.”
