A quiet moment at HealthPark Hospital becomes a doorway back to my childhood in Chelstone and forward into the life I once dreamed of. This episode reflects on alignment, becoming, and the unexpected ways our younger selves meet us again when we’re finally ready to step into the life we imagined.

Life is stormy. As someone said, "we are either approaching a storm, going through one, or getting out of one."  Storms make us uneasy, panicky, and uncertain. The most difficult thing about storms is the waiting. And while we wait, we have anxiety. Life is like that. We have learned to live life, simply managing our anxieties. But that is not the purpose of life. Anxiety can be positive and negative too. In this episode, we look at how the storm may be good for you and what you can learn from nature.

Inundated with assignments, peripheral demands, and a constant desire to help and accommodate others, I learned to say no, disconnect, and focus on the work ahead so I could get ahead and finish well. In this episode i share how having mental "tunnel vision" helped me finish well. It is the "No" we sometimes have to utter, the commitments we must put aside, the pleasures we deny ourselves, and the influences we avoid that help us succeed in our long battles. I hope that the message about letting go and focusing will help you feel less guilty and motivated to get ahead in the face of temptations. 

It has been a trying year for all of us. But as we look through the gloom there are flashes of brightness to be thankful for. The pfizer vaccine has been rolled out and it has been administered to the first person in the USA. The electoral college meets today to cast their final vote in the 2020 voting process. The wheels are still turning even if they have been in slow motion. What do we remember about this year? What lessons have we learned and what is there to be thankful for?
