ome might call this week’s guest a “quadruple threat” as Radha Mehta is a Film Director, Producer, Composer & Painter. Though we don’t disagree, we prefer to say that Radha is oozing with heARTistic inspiration!
Mehar Khursheed @curlistani Pakistan based social justice advocate, has been getting her into all sorts of [GOOD] trouble for a very long time - which we love! Wondering how? Listen on Heartistry 🎙
With Mehar’s strong convictions on social, political, legal, and environmental issues truly being her passion, she reflects in this excerpt from her conversation with Farah about how, as she puts it, used to have her “internal misogyny”, explaining what that meant to her, what changed and why.
You’ve likely heard of the fabulous Jikaria sisters, and next week is your chance to really get to know 1/3 of the trio - Omika Jikaria!

We are here for all the Omika represents, and can’t wait to share her journey!
This week’s guest, Haider Ali Shah, is a true heARTivist. Hear Haider’s insights as they reflect on their unique upbringing in a Pashtoon village in Pakistan.
Now a semi classical performing artist, a writer and a director, Haider’s stories are socially motivated with a deep belief in the power of expression, and tries to use their own voice to help those who may not have the freedom to do so for themselves.

Megha @meghatron5 is the President of the Desai Foundation @desaifoundation an organization that empowers women and children through community programming to elevate health, livelihood, and menstrual equity in rural India. There is so much to learn from Megha as she goes in depth into the work of this organization, and even more so about her thoughtful and compassionate approach to working with communities abroad.
We especially love this excerpt from Farah’s conversation with Megha talking about how supporting women and providing menstrual equity would literally help the GDP of India!
Farah takes us back to Pakistan for the next episode with @affanbaghpati
Affan Baghpati is a Visual Artist and Arts Educator, based in Karachi, Pakistan. This conversation is not only a window into Affan’s journey, but also shares a thoughtful and critical analysis of how and what needs to change for artists creating work in a country like Pakistan. A reflective and insightful dialogue about the art of being an artist.
Dr. Rohan Krishnamurthy is an Indian-American percussionist, composer, and educator, and one of the leading voices of Indian classical and cross-genre music in the South Asian diaspora. Our next episode welcomes sustainability heARTivist Shila Wattamwar @shilawattamwar
Shila’s deep passion for sustainable food and the promotion of a lifestyle of sustainable consciousness, is equal parts informative and inspiring! As Shila so beautifully said regarding the implementation of sustainable practices in each of our lives, “It’s a dial, not a switch!” We can each find small, incremental ways to make our planet a better place for all of us!
We are thrilled to have Vu Le and his hilarious, but spot on, insights through his blog @nonprofitAF join us on Tues, Apr 25 10am PST / 6pm GMT / 10pm PKT
Vu Le worked in the nonprofit sector most of his life, serving in various roles including as executive director of two nonprofits for over 13 years, and now dissects all aspects of the nonprofit sector with a thoughtful and necessary dose of levity to, as Vu says, “...work towards a world where we don’t have a lot of non profits because the government takes care of its people.”
