Continuing his admonition of the Corinthian church, the Apostle Paul addresses their carnal nature including their failure to live supernaturally preferring instead to live like the natural or unsaved world. Paul points we are all indeed no one without God and it is He alone that brings both increase and reward.

Paul continues in chapter two addresses the problem of division resulting from worldly pride that plagued the Corinthian church. The church then and even today has allowed the wisdom of the world to obscure and in some cases replace the wisdom of God yet Paul is clear, we have the mind of Christ so this should never have been a problem in the first place. Paul explains how we can be resolved to be spiritually wise and also impact the world.
