Evelyn developed a website, designed a curriculum, and held workshops for underprivileged girls to expose them to careers in STEM.
More from Evelyn:
My name is Evelyn Taliaferro and I am a current freshman at Princeton University majoring in electrical and computer engineering. I joined Girl Scout Troop 5357 in the first grade and was an active member of the troop until I graduated from Nansemond River High School in 2022. My Girl Scout journey culminated with my Gold Award Project, "EngineerKids!" where I developed a website, designed a curriculum, and held workshops for underprivileged girls to expose them to careers in STEM. My passion for engineering stemmed from my participation with my high school's engineering specialty program, Project Lead the Way. The summer after my junior year I attended the Virginia Summer Governor's School where I discovered my specific interest in electrical engineering. I'm passionate about exposing girls to careers in engineering and I currently work with young Girl Scouts as a member of the Society of Women Engineers at Princeton University.

Kennedy took a Girl Scout Troop experience and created a STEM program, with a special focus on minorities in STEM.
More from Kennedy:
Hello, my name is Kennedy Watkins. I am the founder of Gilded Teas, an organic loose-leaf tea company. My company's mission is to encourage minorities to join the STEM and agriculture fields. During high school,
I was a part of One Laptop Per Child my sophomore year and along with other girls, created lesson plans to teach elementary students how to code in Barbados as my May program. I wanted to continue to introduce more people to the STEM field. In my Junior year, I began working on my Gold Award, the highest award recognized by a Girl Scout. The project was influenced by my time in Barbados. I created my own lesson plans and I'm sharing them with teachers. Currently, I am a Computer Science major, and this past year I didn't see many females of color in my classes. I wanted to grow an audience for my message so that I could reach more people and grow more awareness. I want to use my company's platform to teach a new audience about this. Gilded Teas targets health-conscious tea drinkers who before learning of my company were unaware of the stem field from a minority perspective.

Giovanna wrote a bilingual book for children experiencing radiation treatment explaining what the process is like.
More about Giovanna :
Giovanna Quevedo was inspired to write, "A Kid's Guide to Radiation Therapy," after her mother was diagnosed with cancer and prescribed radiation therapy as treatment. Her mother's experience made her wonder how pediatric patients cope with their cancer treatment. While researching educational materials about cancer, she failed to find age-appropriate resources for pediatric radiation patients and she wanted to change that. Over the course of two years, Giovanna researched, wrote, self-published, and donated her book. Today, her bilingual children's book is available through partnerships with twelve leading hospitals and cancer organizations across the globe which reach an estimated 45,000 people annually. Giovanna is a University Honors student and President's Scholar studying Nutritional Science and Chemistry with the goal of working in healthcare. After earning her Gold Award, she represented Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles as their inaugural Gold Award Scholarship recipient and in the 2022 Tournament of Roses Troop. She loves Girl Scout camp and works as a lifeguard and boating instructor for a camp in her council. Giovanna hopes her project will continue to reach children and families in need as they embark on their journey to healing.

Orezi created a website with reviews submitted by students at Universities and Colleges on the environment and racial diversity.
More from Orezi:
I have been a Girl Scout since Kindergarten, and since I finished my Gold Award project I will become a Lifetime Girl Scout. Whenever I think about community, I think about Girl Scouts not only because of my troop but also because of how much I have been taught to notice what is happening locally and engage. I was part of Girl Scouts' national advisory board also known as G-Team from early 2019 to late 2020 where I did work on the GSUSA website, mental health programming, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. I also worked as a Media Star for Girl Scouts of Colorado. I am currently going to school at Pomona College where I will major in psychology because I hope to be a research psychologist when I grow up.
