It has all been in the air since the fall of 2020, tech companies have been laying off staff en mass. Not just big tech but startups also, at this point we believe that it has become contagious like the flu(everyone is doing it because the other person did it). But the truth is, there are logical and business reasons behind these layoffs, one is to meet the current reality of the market which was spiked by the events of the last two years. In this episode, we take a deep dive, Oscar and Cally provide deep insights into the reasons behind the layoffs and how to stay ahead. Giving advice to a friend in the world we live in today has to be one of the hardest jobs to do partly because we have all become soft and do not want to hurt anyone's feelings. The issue with this is that we are caught between, you either give your advice and hurt their feelings or keep your advice to yourself and you continue to hurt or watch your friend stray. The way you go about the advice has to be the most important aspect here. We should also take into consideration that some people prefer you to be direct with them while others prefer a soft landing. If you are not Nigerian, the  term "I JUST GOT BACK"  will definetly be foreign to you and that is why we have the podcast to explain what it is. The "I JUST GOT BACK" concept, popoularly known as "IJGB" is used to describe Nigerians or a Nigerian that has just returned to the country from abroad or from a place outside of Nigeria. The peak period when you have a mass return is usully in December. This is usually followed with lots of money spent, lots of oppression (financially) on those back home because not everyone can compete or measure up.
