Wheeeeeeew chile, life has been TRYING IT with the HeauxmGirls, but we are BACK this Monday to start your week off with an episode that we hope wakes up your moral compass just as much as that Venti latte' woke you up this morning. Drug addiction and incarceration is something that we as Black people are all too familiar with in some way, shape, or form. In this episode of “black mamas be like...” the HeauxmGirls discuss parenting as Millennials. Let’s face it, raising children in the ‘99s & the 2000s is totally different than in 2021. Growing up, most of us had a strong sense of structure— clean up, make good grades, or that’s your @$$. How has your upbringing played a role in your current parenting style? What similarities or differences do you notice in how you were raised vs how you are raising your kiddos...and why? This week’s topic takes a look at The HeauxmGirls’ parenting styles and how it has changed over the years.
Hey Y'all!!! Well Rona's (coronavirus's) dirty tail STILL has not taken herself inside, and is also ruining men and women's livelihoods as we speak. If you haven't been affected, THANK GOD!! However, if you were to be affected by the sudden loss of your spouse's/ significant other's income, what would you do?? How long would this be acceptable in your sight? Are there specific factors that would determine the length of time that you would be able to remain in your relationship? If your spouse voluntarily left this job, would your decision be altered? Well chile, tune in and see what the HeauxmGirls have to say about this in this week's episode!!
"Work work work work work" or whatever Rihanna said. This week's episode takes a look at black women in the workforce. So take off your blazer, hard hat, or white coat and enjoy the joce!
“Crazy”...”Throwed Off”...”Off your Rocker”...”Gone Pecan”....I mean how often have you heard those phrases thrown around to describe someone seemingly deviating from our sense of “normal”? But what really IS normal...and WHY is it taboo in communities of color regarding the stigma surrounding mental illness? There are several cultural factors that contribute to the negative attitudes and beliefs that make it difficult for individuals to seek help from a mental health professional. Today the HeauxmGirls for the first time EVER have invited a special guest speaker, Devyn Walker, Licensed Therapist and Racial Trauma Counselor, to help change the narrative of therapy and its importance in breaking mental health barriers in the black community.
