The biggest obstacle that keeps us from mourning well is an unwillingness to acknowledge the pain. We urgently want to get out of it as quickly as possible.
Being willing to embrace it for the moment and being able to actively process it with God is what allows us to receive a special kind of blessing; one reserved for the broken-hearted.
All the behavior management that happens after that is sometimes the easier part. But it is much more rewarding and fulfilling to walk through the valleys life has to offer us when we partner with Jesus - who so cares for us, and so truly wants to hold our hearts in the process.
