Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. Isaiah 35: 6-7,10

Yeshua answered and said unto them, Go and show John again those things which ye do hear and see. The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. Matthew 11:4-5

Although Yeshua literally healed the blind, the deaf, the leper, the sick and the poor, he was also speaking to John at a deeper sod level. These are also terms to describe the exiles of Israel. How do we know this? Isaiah 35, verse 6 and 7 is talking aobut the blind, the deaf, and the lame. That is the subject.

Now read Isaiah 35:10:

And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

This is describing the INGATHERING of the exiles of Israel, and they are returning to Zion, (which is Jerusalem).

Yeshua came to gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel. He lays down His life to gather the scattered sheep and to make the two sheepfolds (Judah and Ephraim) into ONE sheepfold.

Did you know that one of the reasons why Yeshua died on the tree was to gather and reunite the twelve tribes of Israel? Yeshua said that there are TWO sheepfolds that are going to be ONE sheepfold and He will be their shepherd. He is going to lay down His life.

Why? To gather and unite these two sheepfolds into ONE. Who are the two sheepfolds? They are Northern kingdom, Ephraim and Southern kingdom, Judah.

WHEN is He going to do that? In the “cloudy and dark day”. That is a Hebrew idiom for the time known as “Jacob’s trouble” or the tribulation period:

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. Jeremiah 30: 7,10

Let’s summarize the list of penalties that happen to the adulterous woman:

*She will drink bitter waters

*She will be slain with the sword

*Her curses are written in a book and blotted out

*She is forsaken by her husband

*Her husband hides his face from her

*She is slain with thirst

*She is stripped naked

*She is laughed to scorn

*She is mocked for the way she commits whoredom

*Her enemies cast lots for her

We saw in the last session that Yeshua took upon Himself these same penalties and curses when He died on the tree. Why would He do this? Because He is married to the house of Jacob, to His bride. They are ONE, they are ECHAD. So what happens to her, happens to Him. Because He loved her so much, He took all the penalty that was due to her and He took it upon Himself so that she could be a redeemed bride and their marriage covenant could be renewed.

In this session, we will look in greater detail at WHY Yeshua needed to die in order to redeem His adulterous wife.
