It was “Almighty God”, which in Hebrew, is “El Shaddai” who made covenant with Abraham. In Rev 1:8, this Almighty God IS Yeshua, the alef and the tav, the beginning and the end. Therefore, it was Yeshua who appeared to Abraham and made covenant with him.

Yeshua is in covenant relationship with Abraham. When you accept Yeshua as the Messiah, you are in covenant relationship with him, and HE is in covenant relationship with Abraham, therefore all believers in Yeshua the Messiah are heirs to what was promised to Abraham.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He said not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to your seed, which is Yeshua.

Through the vision that Peter had, he has been shown that it is NOT a violation of the written Torah/word of God for him to have fellowship with non-Jews. It is an unlawful thing according to Pharisaic Judaism, or rabbinic Judaism, or orthodox Judaism, or according to the Oral Law. Peter had to get free of this mindset so that he could have fellowship with and minister to the gentiles/non-Jews who were ready to receive the gospel of Yeshua. Peter had to get “unstuck” from the mindset of adhering to the Oral law. That was why the Father gave him the vision of the unclean animals, and then the spirit told him to go “Rise, Peter, kill and eat.” God is now declaring that the “unclean people” of the Northern kingdom could become “clean” through faith in Messiah Yeshua.

Lets summarize:

*Peter is playing the prophetic role of rabbinic Judaism

*God is communicating with them to have table fellowship with the non-Jewish Ephraimites who believe that Yeshua is the Messiah.

*they are to draw near (corban) to each other by presenting a peace offering which is friendship between Ephraim and Judah.

He fell into a trance, and saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. Acts 10:10-15

God gave a certificate of divorce to the Northern kingdom (Jer 3:8). This nation has behaved as a harlot. The book of Hosea is written to the Northern Kingdom. Hosea is told by the Lord to take for himself a harlot as a wife. She is a prophetic picture of the spiritual condition of the Northern Kingdom. The Northern Kingdom gets taken into captivity by Assyria. While in exile in Assyria, the 10 tribes of the north eat that which is unclean (Hosea 9:3).

They are likened to be as “unclean animals”:

Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door. And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here. So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about. Ezek 8: 8-10

Yet, God promises that what was once pronounced as a people who are “unclean” and “not my people” will become “clean” and will become “sons of the living God” (Hosea 1:10), and, in times past, she has played the harlot (Hosea 2:5) she becomes the betrothed unto Messiah Yeshua forever (Hosea 2:19).
