Why does Yeshua heal the lame man and the blind man on the Sabbath? At the deeper sod level, Yeshua was making a statement that when he heals a blind man or a lame man, he removing their blindness to the Torah. He is revealing to them that He is the Messiah and showing them that it is He who will gather and unite the exiles of Israel and return them to the land. This will happen during the time known as Jacob’s trouble or the “Day of the Lord”.

How is the seventh day Sabbath associated with the Day of the Lord? Each day of creation represents one thousand years of time:

For a thousand years in Your sight

Are like yesterday when it is past,

And like a watch in the night. Psalm 90:4

The ingathering of the exiles of Israel is associated with the Day of the Lord. The ingathering of the exiles is also associated with them returning to follow the Torah.

The exiles of Israel are described as blind, deaf, and lame. During the ingathering, Yeshua will cause their eyes to be opened, their deaf ears to be unstopped, and their lame to leap as they learn to walk in the Torah:

Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him;

I will surely have mercy upon him, says the LORD. Jer. 31: 20

“And he said, A certain man had two sons…”Luke 15:11

At the deeper sod level, the two sons in the parable of the prodigal son represent the northern and the southern kingdom, Ephraim and Judah. Ephraim, the northern kingdom, has gone off into the world and squandered his inheritance.

And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

Riotous living is a reference to harlotry.

One of the primary missions of Yeshua in His first and His second coming is to gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel. He is coming again to gather the scattered flock of two sheepfolds: Judah and Ephraim. This parable is prophetic in speaking to us about Northern kingdom and Southern kingdom and how they will eventually be reunited; it will be likened unto a joyous wedding!
