This week we end our look at the book of Ruth in light of Shavuot. When we consider the story of Ruth, we generally only think about Ruth’s redemption. However, as we’ve walked through her story, we see that the entire book of Ruth is packed with redemption and restoration.
In this week’s episode, we continue to consider the implications of Shavuot. Today we will begin reading the book of Ruth, traditionally read each Shavuot. For many of us, the main thrust of the book of Ruth is Ruth’s proclamation to Naomi, but this powerful statement happens at the end of chapter 1. There are still three more chapters chocked full of beautiful lessons for us to learn. What wondrous truths have we missed? Let’s dive in and discover!
Shavuot, the seemingly obscure one-day holiday that ends Pesach, has come and gone. So, why talk about it after the fact? Well, as with all of the Father’s appointed times, Shavuot has implications that ripple through time even after its celebration has come and gone. For the next couple of episodes, we will be talking about those implications and what they mean for us today.
