In today’s turbulent world, many ask, “Where can we turn?” I believe the answer is in Psalm 89 when we are told to stand in the LIGHT of the face of God. The music I play in this session is from the Tabernacle Prayer CD – track on the Menorah – 528 Hz – Which is where we stand in the light of the Menorah and examine our lives to see if we are in alignment with the instructions of our Heavenly Father. His way is promised to bring life and blessings. All other ways lead to destruction. It’s time for us to turn around and come into the LIGHT of His Presence!

Do you want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans! Psalm 2 tells us that God laughs at the plans of the kings of the earth who are plotting against His plans. As we read the headlines in today’s news feeds, we see these plans being displayed constantly. Secret meetings in far-off places are bringing together powerful people who think they know better than God how to run the earth and its nations. David, in this Psalm, is reminding us that God has a plan, and it will be fulfilled. We have nothing to fear!

Psalm 1 tells us how we should live with God’s word as our guide. It says we should meditate on His word day and night. The word for meditating in Hebrew is “Hagah” which has the meaning of gnawing in the same way that a dog gnaws on a bone to get all the nutrients out of it. As we make God’s instructions our leading guide, we are told that we will prosper. Jesus/Yahshua said that He came so that we could have more abundant life – that is the prosperity that David is referring to here.

I am also reading Psalm 16 and Psalm 30 which both tell us that God is in charge and will see us through whatever life throws in our direction. Shirley and I have witnessed firsthand the amazing provision of our Heavenly Father, As the world swirls around us with uncertainty, we have a sure fortress to which we can for stability. Our Heavenly Father knows what we need and is more than able to supply that provision.

As Shirley and I were reading through Isaiah 59, we were struck by the familiarity of the verses with the headlines of today’s news stories. There was a direct correlation, and we were reminded of Soloman’s comments that there is nothing new under the sun. Psalms 28 and 29 are David’s answers to those conditions. We must focus on our Heavenly Father and His ability to bring us through these trying times. I play music from the Exodus version of the Song of Moses with Shirley narrating the text of that wonderful song of deliverance. Be encouraged – Our Abba has this covered! Blessings.

In a world that seems to be spinning out of control, it is important to remember where we can turn to for a constant source of wisdom and life. Our Heavenly Father has promised – made a covenant with us – that if we will walk in His instructions (Torah) and follow his teachings, He will make sure we are blessed and have life abundant. If we choose to go our own way, we will have cursing and death. Many of the leaders of the world systems are trying to get us to focus on their plans, which in many cases are directly in opposition to what Scripture tells us. It is time we stand up with Joshua as he led the children of Israel across the Jordan – “Choose you this day who you will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve YHVH.” May that be our declaration today in a world full of chaos. Blessings for your week 🙂

Reading through Isaiah 3 this week was almost like reading the headlines in the newspaper. As Solomon once wisely said, “There is nothing new under the sun.” As troubles abound in our nation and in the world, David has a wonderful solution in Psalm 92 and 93. Some think maybe Moses wrote Psalms 90-100, but either way, whoever wrote these Psalms, they serve to remind us that our Heavenly Father is not taken by surprise, and He is still in control. Listen and be encouraged.

On this episode Robert answers the question as to how Orthodox Jewish music dispersed after the fall of the temple.  Three distinct methods of cultural worship have evolved throughout the centuries, Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Mizrahi.  These three coexist seperately and interchangeably depending on  the style of worship practiced in various countries all over the world.  After this we conclude with some insights from the Talmud as to Rabbinic decree of worship using instruments, vocals, and during feast days.
