We began the reading of Parsha Noach last week, both with the story of his genealogy, the nature of the world at that time, and the Flood itself. But that parsha also includes at least one other famous story, and one which also bears more relevance today that we might like to admit.

The Erev Shabbat reading of the parsha follows the Flood, in chapters ten 12 of Bereshiet/Genesis, and includes the story of Nimrod, and the Tower of Babel:

The Sabbath Day midrash picks up the theme of Nimrod, Babel, and what it was about that tower that was so unique to YHVH that it merited the response He gave it.

And it seems to have lot to do with what Bebylon became, and evidently still represents: a system that is antagonistic to His.

There are parallels, anti-parallels, but this time the question concerns what might follow the parallels after that Flood, “as it was in the days of Noach…”

The issue this time is Babylon, and what constitutes the ‘Greater Babylon Metro Area.’

And what was increasingly clear has become almost undeniable: the DEI “democracy” candidate, who doesn’t know what actual ‘fascism’ is, because she ‘are one,’ has imploded. And the only remaining doubt about the ‘election’ is whether the incredible levels of fraud already obvious will be sufficient to sell the Big Lie.

But it’s that massive fraud that was front-and-center this week. And time is running out for preparation.

Psalm 23 is probably the most read and memorized Psalm of all time. At a funeral this past week I was meditating on the words, “Even though I walk through the valley of death,” and it seemed to me that David is not only addressing his current situation of running for his life from King Saul, but he is also looking forward to that day when he will “dwell in the house of the Lord forever. I believe that this Psalms gives us the assurance that this life has nothing to give us of lasting value. If we stay true to our Heavenly Father’s instructions, we have this sure promise of eternal life. How can the world offer us anything in comparison.

On today’s show, I am going to continue with the second of this two-part program addressing the topic of dealing with the shock of losing a loved one. It might be that you were given time to prepare as best as possible for the departure of a loved one due to a prolonged illness. Or, it might be that you’ve had to face the sudden and unexpected death of one who was close to you, perhaps a husband, wife, child, mother, father, brother, sister, or an extended member of the family. How are we supposed to approach matters of this nature when they come to knock on our door, knowing it is clear that we must go on with life, though bereaved? It is not an easy matter to deal with. So, what is the answer? How are we to handle life when losing a loved one to the Sting of Death, which is the Last Enemy as spoken about in the Bible.

Recently, I sat down for a candid dialogue with my wife to discuss this very issue because of her own experience in suddenly losing her deep friend and husband of 22 years. I, too, have had to handle the sudden death of my son at 24 years old, as well as dealing with the death of my two sibling brothers, each within one month of the other. Of course, some of you listening here have your own survival stories to tell. Together, I think we can all learn from each other that, at least, for believers in the redemption actions of Yeshua the Messiah, there is comfort and hope. But still, even in this, the throbbing pain of the passing away of a loved one takes time and a resolve to let them go, to begin a process of healing and closure.
