News and commentary for Tuesday, 27 August, 2024.
Finally, some ‘good news’. In context, anyway…
In John 17 we read about one of the last prayers Yeshua prayed, and He prayed not only for His disciples, but for us also. To begin the prayer, Yeshua prayed to be glorified/esteemed or honored so that His Father would also be honored. This should be a model for all who are Yeshua’s disciple, that we should seek honor only so that our Father would receive honor by the way we think, talk and act.
For those who seek to “go deeper” into understanding of the text, Rabbi Berkson gives the opportunity in this episode as he brings out some things that you may not have seen or thought of as you’ve read this passage before.
Why should you have authority over your “flesh”? What is “flesh”? How do you have authority over your flesh?

Parsha “Ekev,” (Devarim or Deuteronomy 7:12 – 11:25) continues the theme of obedience to YHVH, beginning with a promise, that BECAUSE (ekev) you hearken (hear and obey) to these ‘mishpatim’ (ordinance) and keep them and DO them…then…
And it is central to His Instruction (torah) for us, which has not changed.
The Erev Shabbat reading not only makes what that means clear, but should “raise some eyebrows” as well. Because we’ve been lied to about what that means.
In the Sabbath day midrash, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa makes the case that there is FAR more to the instruction here than many of us have been led to believe. Last week, we were told bluntly that men were not to “add to” or “subtract from” His Word; they have made whole religions out of it instead.
This time we take a look at the consequences.
And what He says to do about it.
WARNING: When Scripture uses Strong Language, we do Him a dis-service to soft-pedal that Truth. Mark does not.

(2ND HALF OF FIRST MESSAGE, for ENTIRE first message CLICK HERE) This is the first of two messages where we will be taking a contrasting look at the difference between the modern Secular Nation State of Israel and the coming Biblical Kingdom of Israel. Today is an introduction of sorts in that we will be discussing how some “Christians” including some Hebrew Roots/Messianic believers in Y’shua as Messiah are almost worshiping the modern State of Israel and the Jewish people who currently live there as prophetic Messianic figures. I’m going to play a short clip for you from a November 2023 interview and then we will also be looking at a document from templemount.org which reveals some surprising information about plans to use the Dome of the Rock for the altar portion of the 3rd temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This 3rd temple utilizing the Dome of the Rock as an altar to connect together 4 individual temples, one for each of the four monotheistic religions creating what the proponents call the prophesied “House of Prayer for All Nations”. However in reality it will be an ecumenical ‘house of prayer for all religions’ on the Temple Mount. These 3rd temple plans include of course making Jerusalem the Religious Capital of the World.
This is likely to be a somewhat controversial topic but we welcome emailed discussions in love and mutual respect to [email protected] . We are in no way trying to disparage the Jewish people which we love enough to declare the truth that they also must be grafted back into the tree of biblical Israel through rebirth in Y’shua Messiah who said we must all be born again.
Article regarding 3rd temple utilizing Dome of the Rock for altar can be found here: https://www.templemount.org/komsky/
The subject of the Hebrew meaning of blood (???? – “dahm” in Hebrew) came up in a conversation this past week, so I decided to see what David had to say about blood in the Psalms. Psalm 72 tells us that the blood of the righteous is precious in the site of our Heavenly Father. Other places in Scripture tell us that life is in the blood. First use of the word in the Bible is found in Genesis where Abba tells Cain that the blood of his brother Able is crying out from the ground. Blood is the essence of life. Our blood carries our identity, and our Heavenly Father notices when our blood is spilled out. Even today, blood is tested for all manner of medical diagnosis. It carries the information that tells a doctor what the state of life is withing their patient. Blood is physically and spiritually central to the designs of our Heavenly Father’s plan for His creation. Link to John Tussey Music: https://johntussey.com/

Steve Rees has been producing Harp Music from the Psalms of David for the past 20 years. He has discovered a connection between the Hebrew text of the Psalms and music notes that develop into chord progressions that form the basis for musical compositions that have been appreciated by thousands of followers. We invite you to join the many lives that have been positively affected by this wonderful music.
The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life? 2 Corinthians 3: 7-8
The New Covenant is not the written law on stone or paper, but it is written upon our hearts by the Holy Spirit. When we live in the New Covenant, the spirit gives us LIFE and we live from glory to glory.
But if we are not careful, we can drift back into the OLD Covenant, following the laws of Moses in our own power, strength and flesh. Then a veil comes over our mind and heart. Our mind can become hardened and there is no understanding when the Old Testament/Torah is read. This veil can only be removed by Yeshua Himself, when we put our trust in him and have a relationship with Him.
Do you have a veil? Do you want it removed? Cry out to Yeshua to remove it! Return to HIM!
