How important is forgiveness? Rabbi Steve Berkson takes us to Matthew chapter six where he shows us the “model prayer” given by Yeshua when His disciples asked how they should pray.
In the prayer, which is just an outline for how to pray, Yeshua hits the issue of forgiveness, from the vertical, the Father, and also on the horizontal, between ourselves. Are you willing to do for your brother or sister what you expect the Father to do for you? As He does, so should you. If you don’t, He won’t.
• What is the “negative emotional state”?
Then Rabbi Berkson takes us to Matthew 18:21-22 to look at a parable Yeshua told to give an example of what it looks like to be forgiven and to forgive. First, Peter poses the question about how many times should someone forgive another. Yeshua’s response was a multiplication equation.
• What was the equation? What was the answer? Was the answer meant to actually be how many times we should forgive our brother/sister?
• Before the master in the parable forgave the debt of his servant, what happened first?
• What is it that Rabbi Berkson says we should never forget? How does it affect the way we treat others? (Deuteronomy 24:18)
• How can haSatan use your unforgiving attitude?
• What are the two things forgiveness does to thwart the adversary interfering in your life?
Do you really understand what it means to “grieve the set-apart (holy) spirit of Elohim? (Ephesians 4:30) Rabbi Berkson makes the understanding so simple. Don’t miss it.
What about being “sealed by the set-apart spirit of Elohim”? Are you clear about that?

The annual-cycle Torah reading week, parsha Vayechi (Genesis/Bereshiet chapter 47:28-End) not only concludes the story of the life and times of Yakov or Jacob, but of Yosef (Joseph) as well, and the Book of Genesis.
The Erev Shabbat reading:
Among other things, including Yakov’s blessings for his sons, and thus the tribes of Israel, this parsha includes the ‘adoption’ of Yosef’s two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh (or is it Manasseh and Ephraim???) into the “twelve” bribes of Israel. Where Yakov “crosses his hands,” during that blessing.
He asks a question, too. Which seems almost out of place. And yet, it’s also almost as easy for us to just gloss over it, and ignore the potential implications. But is should resonate with us now:

Real Israel Talk Radio
On today’s program, my guest is Professor Jonathan Ben Dov of Haifa University and Tel Aviv University. Professor Ben Dov received international recognition through his scholarly work on the Dead Sea Scrolls, Fragment 4Q324d, with Professor Dr. Eshbal Ratzon. Together, their work on DSS 4Q324d taught them about a little-known biblical celebration of the Hebrew Bible, referred to as the Festival of the Wood Offering on the 29th day of the 6th Month. The WOOD OFFERING FESTIVAL, referred to as KORBAN ETZIM, is mentioned in the Temple Scroll 11Q19 Column 23, as well as the DSS Calendrical Document fragments 4Q324d, 4Q325, 4Q327, 4Q365RPc, FlaviusJosephus’ Wars of the Jews, the Hebrew Book of Nehemiah 10:34 (Heb:35), and Nehemiah 13:29. On this program we will learn about DSS 4Q324d and the Levitical Priestly Calendar of 364 Days and how it relates to the Qumran Priestly Community of the Yachad.
News, commentary, and an extended look at the major events of the week ending Saturday, 11 January, 2025…
You can almost see the Truth through the flames.
America, and indeed the entire world, arguably face more “existential threats” now than in any other time in human history.
And while there may not appear to be much that we as individuals can do about many of them — other than pray! — there are things that we can, and must, do to prepare for the eventualities.
Existential Threats and Real Preparedness
News and commentary for Thursday, 9 January, 2025.
From arson to Not-so-Peaceful Transitions, to mind control, and a coverup that spans 70 years – there’s a pattern here.
And the pre-emptive “pardons” still likely to come are a big part of the continuing story.
Welcome to the new IBR series, “The Mitzvah Project”. In this series, we are going to be looking at ways to better & more consistently observe the commandments, beginning with Shabbat. We invite you to come along on this amazing journey!
