The Jewish people understood Psalm 110:4 foretold that a priest was coming in the order of Melchizedek. The writer of Hebrews explains that Jesus is this priest, and, as a result, the Jewish people should embrace him as this priest and by faith enter the new testament of grace, thus leaving behind the Levitical priesthood and the priestly order of Aaron.
