Companion Text: Exodus 20:22-26
1. The FOUNDATION of Grace—“If you make me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stones, for if you wield your tool on it you profane it.” (Exodus 20:25)
2. The FOLLY of Grace—“Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, ‘This man receives sinners and eats with them.’” (Luke 15:1-2)
3. The FOCUS of Grace—“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.” (Luke 15:20b)
4. The FEAR of Grace—“…but he answered his father, ‘Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!’”
(Luke 15:29-30)
5. The FACT of Grace—“’It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.’” (Luke 15:32)
