1. SETTING OUT—“So Israel took his journey with all that he had…” (Genesis 46:1a)

2. SETTING UP—“So Israel took his journey with all that he had and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.” (Genesis 46:1)

3. SETTING IN—“And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said, ‘Jacob, Jacob.’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’” (Genesis 46:2)

1. The PURPOSE—“So Joseph said to his brothers, ‘Come near to me, please.’ And they came near. And he said, ‘I am your brother, Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt. And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.’” (Genesis 45:4-5)

2. The PLEA—“Hurry and go up to my father and say to him, ‘Thus says your son Joseph, God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me; do not tarry.’” (Genesis 45:9)

3. The PROVISION—“And you, Joseph, are commanded to say, ‘Do this: take wagons from the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.’”
