Jacob Greco joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. Jacob Greco is a Toronto based writer, stand-up, and sketch comedian. He has performed across North America in festivals including OFF-JFL, SF Sketchfest, Chicago Sketchfest, and POP Montreal. He has opened for comics such as Todd Glass, Michelle Wolf, Myq Kaplan, and Tim & Eric Awesome Show's David Liebe Hart.
Jacob has written for Just For Laughs stand-up tapings including Homegrown Comics and The Stand-Up Show. He also wrote hundreds of one-liner jokes for the Velocity Network series Rev'd Up, a clip-show about cars, a subject which he continues to know painfully little about.
Leonard Chan joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. Born and raised in Toronto, Leonard performs stand-up all across Canada. He has been heard on CBC's The Debaters, Laugh Out Loud, and Sirius/XM radio, published on CBC Comedy and the Beaverton, and seen on stage at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival, JFL42, worked with Ronny Chieng, Rhea Butcher, and Joel Kim Booster, and was one of the New Faces at Just For Laughs in Montreal.
He won the 2016 Absolute Comedy Prove You’re a Comic competition and the 2018 Comedy Brawl, besting 400 other comedians for the title. He was recently mentioned by CBC as one of the fifteen Canadian comedians to watch in 2019.
His pilot, Forever Home, was one of five finalists selected for the CBC Originals Stand Up and Pitch contest at the Just For Laughs festival in 2018 and he wrote You Want It What Way: A Boy Band Tale which was recognized as one of the top shows at the 2019 Hamilton Fringe. He’s also spent a little time in the writer’s room for international TV hit Kim’s Convenience. He has two degrees in chemical engineering which he now uses only as punchlines.
Meg MacKay joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. Meg MacKay is a comedian, actor, and writer. Her one-person show, Freelance Witch, won Patron’s Pick at the Toronto Fringe Festival and Best of Fringe at the Fringe North festival. She makes her television debut on CBC’s Tallboyz this fall. Her Comedy Album ‘Probably A Witch’ just debuted and can be found on all streaming services.
Joey Harlem joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. Joey Harlem is a Stand Up Comedian based in Toronto who’s slowly losing his grasp on reality. Joey works for the Corner Comedy Club and has no idea who Jo's real father is. Dont worry hes gonna be okay. He is okay.
Todd Van Allen joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. Todd Van Allen is a Toronto-based comedian that has performed in comedy clubs and festivals around the world. His debut stand-up album “Really?” debuted in the Top 5 of the iTunes comedy charts.
Not only has Todd done the club circuit, but he has headlined at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in Melbourne, Australia, and both the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Edinburgh Free Festival. He has performed at the Just for Laughs #JFL42 Festival in Toronto five times, Brantford Comedy Festival, Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, 1000 Islands Comedy Festival in Gananoque, WinterCity Festival in Toronto, the Orillia Comedy Festival, Kinston Summer Festival, and Gananoque’s Festival of the Islands.
Todd has also opened for comedy greats Emo Philips, Rory Scovel, Dana Gould and Jimmy Pardo.
Todd has appeared on Comedy Network’s “The Beaverton”, CBC Radio’s “Definitely Not The Opera” as well as CBC’s “Spark” and AM640’s ‘Inside Jokes with Sandra Carusi’. He’s also been seen on RogersTV with Val Cole on “daytime toronto”, CITY-TV’s “Breakfast Television” with Jennifer Valentyne. You may also have caught him on CBC’s “Test the Nation” as well as SiriusXM’s “Laugh Attack”, “Anything Goes”, and “The Guest Spot”. He also appeared on an episode of the world famous podcast “Never Not Funny” with Jimmy Pardo. You may have also heard him voice over dozens of commercials for television and radio.
Todd also hosts the award-winning podcast Comedy Above the Pub (CATP). It has recently celebrated its 17th season and was written up in Maclean’s magazine. Guests include the likes of Rich Little, Wendy Liebman, Greg Proops, Dana Gould, Jen Kirkman, Anthony Jeselnik, Andy Kindler, Colin Mochrie, Alan Thicke, Bruce McCulloch, Henry Rollins, author Ian Rankin and Iron Chef America co-host Kevin Brauch. The podcast was part of the 2012 NXNE Music Festival, and Todd also moderated a podcasting panel for both the Hot Docs Podcast Festival in 2018 and the Canadian Comedy Awards in 2012. Todd has won the “Search for Canada’s Funniest New Comic”, and is also an award-winning playwright having been one of four winners of the National Arts Centre’s “Young Playwright Competition”. Adrienne Fish joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. With a huge afro, Adrienne Fish has been making her mark on Canada’s comedy scene. Based out of Toronto, Adrienne has recorded four nationally aired TV tapings, including her most recent taping for Comedy Central at Just For Laughs. She's appeared on CBC's comedy show The Debaters, and was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award.
Bringing her big energy to the stage, she tours across Canada and the USA, performing at various clubs, colleges/universities, opening for household names such as Doug Stanhope and been invited to prestigious festivals such as Just For Laughs, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival, Hubcap Comedy Festival, Atlanta’s Laughing Skull, and JFL42. Off stage, she can be heard on SiriusXM's 'Canada Laughs', and her debut album went #1 on iTunes. She’s loud, she’s playful, and she’s watching you right now….
Ben Bankas joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. Ben has performed at the Jewish Comedy Festival, the Cannabis Comedy Festival, 420Toronto at Yonge and Dundas Square, NXNE, Comedy Bar, Thunder Bay Comedy Festival, Second City and was previously a regular comic at The Corner Comedy Club and Absolute Comedy before joining Yuk Yuk’s in 2019. Ben’s ability to connect with a crowd makes him an excellent addition to any show, whether as a host/mc, guest appearance, or feature act.
Juliana Rodrigues joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. Juliana Rodrigues began performing stand-up at the age of 15, now only 22 she's gone on to make quite the name for herself in Toronto. In May 2017 the Canadian Press did a segment about her journey titled, "Canada 150: On stage with a Teenage Stand-up Comedian" for The Toronto Star, and has been featured on The National for her work as well.
Since then, she's gone to perform at the Kitchener- Waterloo Comedy Festival where she recorded a set for CBC Laugh Out Loud, the Icebreakers Comedy Festival, and opened for Gerry Dee at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts. You can catch her touring with Yuk Yuk's hopefully at a town near you.
Faisal Butt joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. Faisal Butt is sure some people find him funny but name is hilarious and others find . It’s probably why started doing stand up. He regularly tours across the country and had filmed his first comedy special for the ichannel. In 2014 he was the winner of the Sirius XM "Top Comic" and then featured in the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal as well as a solo show during JFL42 inToronto. He was also in the Bordertown and Oddball comedy festivals and recently taped an episode for “The Debaters” on CBC. He also has a beard.
Harpreet Sehmbi joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q’d Up. Harpreet is a Toronto based stand-up comedian, improviser, writer, director and actor. She is an alumni of Second City Toronto's Longform Improvisation and Sketch Conservatory programs, and regularly performs stand-up all over Canada and the US. She’s headlined the Lady Laughs Comedy Festival in Wisconsin and the Chicago Women's Funny Festival, and was featured in the North Carolina Comedy Festival, and 6th Borough Comedy Festival in New Jersey. She coproduces and hosts The Darjeelings of Comedy, showcasing South Asian female comedians in Toronto. You can catch Harpreet at Absolute Comedy Club in Toronto, on the renowned Nubian Show produced by Kenny Robinson, and starring in a web series she’s created called INDIE-pendent.
