Spiritual blindness is a terrible plight. It causes individuals miss the working of God and ultimately grieves Him.

The Christmas Carols that are familiar to us teach many truths of Christ and His birth. A recurring theme is the Light of Jesus. He is the Light of the world, bringing the lost out of the darkness of the world.

This carol has a lot to say about the deity of Christ. The deity of Christ is absolutely vital to the faith. Without His deity, no sacrifice for sins could be offered. The virgin birth enabled Him to have a complete human nature and a perfect divine nature.

The servant needs spiritual food, compassion, and evangelism. Without these needs being met, one cannot serve God properly.

What is it that you want the Lord to say when you get to the end of your days? How do we assure the Lord telling us, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant"?

We need to do more than just hear the word. Hearing is absolutely necessary, but it is absolutely worthless unless you act off of what you hear. This understanding of God's Word keeps us from the defilement that comes through the flesh.

Tradition can be good, but because it is the tradition of men it can be faulty. Most times tradition has no basis in Scripture, and therefore it cannot be looked at as absolutely necessary in the believer's life.

To get help from the Servant, one must recognize the need to be healed. They then must have the humility and the faith to go to the Servant for that healing.

We can learn five wise lessons from Jesus and the disciples here in Mark 6. Jesus is our example and we are to learn from Him how to live life properly.

We need rest, relaxation, and time alone with the Lord. However, there are dangers regarding rest that we must be careful of.
