The believer's life, ministry, and character are threatening to the world. It is because of this that we face many threats from the world. Here we see five threats that the believer faces.

God has given us the equipment that we need to serve Him. It is of great importance that we recognize these gifts and apply them faithfully to His service.

The people of Nazareth and even Jesus' very own family rejected Him and His message. Their unbelief meant that they lost the opportunity to have God work in their midst.

How should a servant approach the Lord? We find two excellent examples in Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood. We can learn from their example and apply it to how we approach the Lord.

Jesus could take the worst sinner and make him a washed saint. We can tap into His power by being servants of the Lord by preaching the gospel, sowing the seed, and letting the Word make an impact.

Jesus rescued this man possessed of demons from the darkness he had lived in. He had reached rock bottom, but Christ still pulled him out. Even today, God is seeking to save the worst of man because He loves them all.

The Lord knew a storm was coming, and He allowed this situation to occur to teach them that He is in control. As we go through trials and stormy seas, we ought to find rest in knowing He is in control and has a purpose for it.

Christ used the parabolic method not to keep them from salvation, but He was making them open their eyes, ears, and hearts to receive the message. Those with interest would seek to learn more. Those who did not care would just move on. Parables were given to spark the people's interest.

The believer should be the good, ground soil that is receptive to the Word of God. If we are not receptive to the Word of God, we cannot grow and bear fruit like God intends.

What is the light that we want others to see? That light is to be the Word of God. We ought to share the truth and mark the truth.
