Hegel is a Virgo

On this episode, the squad (especially Anika) goes in on the recent protests and the call for defunding/abolishing the police. As we consider the material outcomes of such a program, we move to a theoretical discussion centered around race and racism that draws from Racecraft by Karen E. Fields and Barbara J. Fields, as well as James Baldwin. Down with the Pigs!

On this episode, the gang is joined by special guest Esther Rosen to discuss two people many of us actually like, Jacques Lacan and Slavoj Zizek. We discuss psychoanalysis and language, the Big Other, Ideology, Fascism, and other good, non-controversial topics! Hope it makes sense!

On this episode (maybe our best yet?), the gang meets virtually, i.e. through the Matrix, to discuss handsome, square-faced actor Kyle Maclachlan and his collaborations with director David Lynch, and queer/whatever-else theorist Judith Butler. We also spend a great deal of time talking about the political potentiality in the current Coronavirus outbreak.

On this episode, the squad goes all in on the work of beloved American author JD (Jerome David) Salinger, and French but Panama hat wearing theorist Gilles Deleuze.

On this episode, the squad discusses the work of French New Wave film director Jean-Luc Godard and gender and queer theorist Jack Halberstam. We hone in on Godard's second film, A Woman is a Woman, and Halberstam's Female Masculinity.
