September 13, 2019The Cisco Kid - Night Rider Of Redrock - ca. 1955 - Western AdventureBased on a short story by O'Henry called "The Caballero's Way" - The Cisco Kid came to radio on Oct 2, 1942 after several successful films had been made of "The Robin Hood of the West" as he was called. At first Cisco was played by Jackson Beck and Pancho by Louis Sorin; but by 1946 Jack Mather took over the role of Cisco with Harry Lang as Pancho. It was aired on the Mutual-Don Lee Radio Network. After Harry Lang died, Mel Blanc played Pancho. More than 600 episodes were produced until the series went off radio in 1956. This is a very enjoyable western radio show! Great mix of humor and adventure. Thank you for listening. I have more "Cisco" and other terrific western shows in my "Western Playlist" ... check it out!...more35minPlay
