Once again i tackle the world of interviewing someone who would never let me interview her... Queen Elizabeth II... her Royal Majesty of Great Britain. For some reason I have fun doing these interviews... hope you enjoy it.

Bird's Eye Open House aired on NBC from Oct. 5, 1944 to May 30, 1946 with its talented guest star, Dinah Shore. She was no newcomer to radio at the time, having performed in a number of different shows with some outstanding orchestras, but this time she was the leading lady who had the opportunity to demonstrate her singing talents, but also her acting, particularly comedic, talents with weekly guest stars. Groucho Marx was a "guest star" so often, he became a semi-regular on the show. This program is their Thanksgiving show from November 22, 1945

Duke Ellington and his Orchestra return with another "A Date with Duke" program rebroadcast over the Armed Forces Radio Service in 1945. Here is the 3rd and concluding episode of " A Coffin For The Lady" written and directed by Carleton E. Morse. The subtitle of this concluding episode of the 3 part adventure is "Deepest Grave in the World"... Episodes 1 and 2 are here on Heirloom Radio

From Old Time Radio Archives: "The title of this series refers to the writer and director of the show, Carlton E. Morse. There were 52 episodes of this thirty-minute adventure series featuring a San Francisco detective, Captain Bart Friday, and his sidekick, Skip Turner. Captain Friday and Skip roamed the world together seeking danger and solving mysteries. The stories told bordered on the supernatural, though there was usually a rational explanation for the superbly written terror-chillers."

Fanny Brice stars as Baby Snooks Higgins with Hanley Stafford as Daddy (Lancelot Higgins). In this very funny episode, Snooks is in training to appear on a quiz show... competing against other children to see who has the most knowledge. This was a parody of the many shows that were aired on radio that were real... children, adults... Quiz Kids, Information Please, Kollege of Musical Knowledge (K is intentional) and so on. But this show, is funny!

A series of contemporary dramas aired on Wisconsin Public Radio in the late 1970's. The programs were funded and supported by The Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the National Endowment for the Arts. This play, "The Last Phone In" is from the BBC. It was written by Keith Waterhouse. We hear the final broadcast of a late night talk show host as his regulars and "not so regulars" phone in on his final night before he signs off for the last time as his show has been cancelled by the management. A very powerful drama.
