November 14, 2020Radio - A Poem By Edgar A. Guest - 1929In 1929 Edgar A. Guest wrote a poem about the most amazing technology of his time... radio. When radio first became available to American listeners it was truly a miracle. People could not believe that "sound" was coming through the air! In fact after radio was invented, the proliferation of "Mediums" and "Psychics" took off! Many felt that if "Sound" could travel through the "ether" (that was the name they gave to the medium that the thought conducted sound)... and it could be heard and then recreated by this thing called a "radio," wouldn't it be possible for some people with special psychic abilities to be able to hear voices being sent from "beyond" and then speak what they heard? On this track... I read Edgar A Guest's poem "Radio." It is marvelous in its simplicity. "Radio" will live in the "History of Radio" Playlist....more3minPlay

The only problem is that he needed money to do these things. His skill as a "solver of crimes" was his source of revenue...but he had to have a legman do all the gathering of information... that was Archie Goodwin.
