I «Hele historien om Bob Paisley» hører vi om Paisleys fotballbesettelse fra en tidlig alder, og hvordan onkelen hans som var slakter kunne hjelpe han med improviserte fotballer. Et liv i relativ fattigdom gjorde han kjapp til beins, og faren som var desperat etter å holde han unna gruvene var en stor støttespiller.

Forfatter John Williams blir med på å fortelle historien om Paisleys første år, om veien til Liverpool, og om årene i krigen. I 1944 kjørte Paisley tanks inn i Roma da byen ble frigjort fra nazistene. Det var en dag han husket godt senere i livet, da Liverpool vant Europacupen i Roma.

Så reiser vi tilbake til 1974 og sjokket som var Bill Shanklys oppsigelse, og en nølende Paisley som ble manager. Paisley var litt beskjeden, og kunne ikke erstatte Shankly i personlighet – men i trofeer.

Supporterklubbens egen Pål Christian Møller og forfatter John Williams forteller om sine opplevelser av finalen i Roma i 1977.

Så kom sommeren da Keegan dro. Paisley måtte erstatte ham, og det klarte han med bravur. Inn, fra Celtic i Skottland, kom Kenny Dalglish. 

Før sesongstart meldte Paisley at 1982/83 ville bli hans siste sesong, og spillerne ønsket å gi han en uforglemmelig avskjed – noe de gjorde, på Wembley.
