  • The Final Judgment of Unbelievers
This sermon examines the final judgment of unbelievers described in Revelation 20, focusing on the scene, sovereign, subjects, standard, and sentence of the Great White Throne. The preacher emphasizes that Jesus Christ presides over this event with absolute justice and holiness, judging all people regardless of their earthly status or achievements. The text highlights the three books opened during this judgment: The Word of God, the Book of Life, which determines eternal destiny, and the books of works, which demonstrate human guilt. The message stresses the literal and terrifying reality of the lake of fire as a permanent separation from God's mercy and grace for those not found in the Book of Life. Ultimately, the sermon serves as a solemn call to trust in Christ alone for salvation and to urgently share the gospel with others before it is too late.

  • Comforts after death
Christian comforts do not make believers passive and placid, but rather stir them to lively hope and therefore a hopeful life. We need to know, then, the comforts we have after death. Some come immediately, both for those who fall asleep in Jesus, and for those who remain. Some come eventually and ultimately, when Christ returns, and all his people are glorified together with him. All come substantially, being real, personal, and certain. The alternatives are dreadful to consider, and give us every reason to offer Christ to the lost, and for the lost to come to Christ for hope now and eternally.

  • 09-The Accomplishment of the Cross
As I was closing the previous chapter – dealing with the wrath of God – I posed the vital question. How can sinners be delivered from this wrath? This is the issue. And that is what I want to deal with in this chapter. What, in the teaching of N.T.Wright, puts the salvation of sinners at risk? What is the fundamental issue? Why have I been engaging with his teaching on the wrath of God, and why have I been so emphatic on the scriptural teaching about that wrath? The answer is simple – without a proper understanding of the wrath of God towards sinners, without a proper – biblical – emphasis on that wrath, God‟s purpose in Christ‟s saving work on the cross is grossly devalued; indeed, it is ruined, it is rendered pointless. I highlighted this in the previous chapter – dealing with the wrath of God – but what I said then bears repetition now. I quoted Wright saying what he thought of „hell‟, in course of which he admitted that:

  • The Power of the Cross
The sermon explores the significance of Jesus Christ holding the keys of hell and death as revealed in Revelation 1. It contrasts temporary divine interventions in history with the permanent victory achieved through the cross, which resolves the paradox of God's mercy and justice. By examining biblical narratives from Genesis to Ezekiel, the text demonstrates that only Christ's resurrection provides the power to overcome sin and brokenness eternally. The message emphasizes that this power is essential for salvation, sanctification, and the ultimate restoration of all things. Believers are urged to rely on the cross rather than human effort or creation power for spiritual renewal.
