Episode 47: This week we are welcoming Sage Holloway to the podcast! Sage is a Kenosha-based artist, musician, and self-proclaimed philosopher. I met Sage through a mutual good human in our lives, and I'm so glad I did. The first thing I noticed about Sage was her ability to ALWAYS "commit to the bit," which, for my older listeners, means that Sage will carry out a joke or a dramatic retelling until you have absolutely believed it to be true. In this episode we talk about creating art, what it means for an extrovert to spend time alone, corn, corn, and more corn, and why Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande's fans always seem to be at odds.

Episode 46: This week we are welcoming one of my favorite humans to "hello good humans" -- Bridget Proper! Join the two of us as we have a conversation that's really just the two of us hanging out and being girlies. We do the podcast version of the YouTube trend "What's In My Bag?," we talk about how we met, Bridget's nursing career, and all of the things we find cringey about smutty fiction. But we also love it.

Episode 45: This week's guest is Veerle Vriens, my dear friend, fan of the podcast, and an exchange student from the Netherlands! Our friendship blossomed because of our connected heritage and the fact that we were studying Servant Leadership together, but the more I learn about Veerle, the more our friendship grows. Veerle talks about her love of the Netherlands, things she likes better about the US, traveling this summer, her love of soccer, and experience suffering from a TBI in 2019. I hope you love Veerle as much as I do!

Episode 44: Today we are joined by Kevin Decker, who shares the wild ride to finding Jesus in his life! Kevin, who you will be able to tell was once a stand-up comedian, is a husband, father, faithful Catholic, and works for the Diocese of La Crosse. We talk about his own faith, as well as the work he does to help our homeless brothers and sisters, and even touch on being in a space with someone who may have polar opposite views and beliefs as yourself. Something that was so important to me when creating "hello good humans," was making sure that I wasn't only highlighting the stories of people who I aligned with 100%. We may chuckle about our differences on the episode, but at the end of the conversation, Kevin says "This was really healing." I can't agree more.

Episode 42: Hello good humans! I wanted to take a moment and answer some of YOUR questions! I love interview all of the good humans in my life, but I also love giving my listeners the chance to get to know me. One of the things that I've been open about on social media has been my journey with endometriosis, but the sad truth is that it is a chronic illness that not many people know much about. So this episode is my attempt at sharing my own experiences and (hopefully) answering some of the questions that I've been receiving. This episode does contain a handful of TMIs, but nothing that I don't mind sharing :)

Episode 41: This episode is really, really special. Karl Goldbeck is an extremely well-loved member of the La Crosse community. He worked for a number of successful businesses around the area, making deep connections with the individuals and corporations he worked with. He also is a lifelong member of the Onalaska Fire Department. One of the things that he always felt passionately about was being the one helping, the one serving, and the one saving others from their distress. In April of 2022, Karl's life turned upside down when he received a Guillain-Barre syndrome diagnosis and within days was unable to speak, eat, walk, drink, or even breathe on his own. This is his story, one of resilience, faith, and an ongoing recovery. Thank you SO MUCH to Karl for letting me share your story on "hello good humans!"

Episode 39: This week I have the pleasure of sharing my conversation with Katie Pehling, the angel behind White Buffalo Thriftery. Katie, along with her partner José, have built an eclectic, thrift boutique in downtown La Crosse. I won't lie -- usually when I go into White Buffalo, I feel like the entire store was curated for me. And I never leave empty handed. In this episode, Katie discusses what it meant to find her own style, to start her own business, be a pig mom (yes, you read that right), and an advocate for mental health.
