The workers who create several iconic and fan-favorite snack foods celebrated a major milestone Saturday. Mondelez International workers along with federal, state and local government officials gathered for a ceremony to mark the Richmond Biscuit Manufacturing Plant's 50th anniversary. The plant in Henrico County makes leading snack brands, including Oreo, Chips Ahoy!, Nilla Wafers, Ritz and Wheat Thins. The West Henrico DMV Customer Service Center has reopened Oct. 16, following a closure of more than a month for renovations. Improvements to the office included an expanded countertop design with two additional service windows, interior paint, new interior and exterior LED lighting, and updated restrooms.   The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.Article Link

O’Bannon will host a Tuckahoe Town Meeting on Thursday, Oct. 26 to explain Henrico County’s new Real Estate Cap Program, which is designed to cap the real estate tax bills of qualifying homeowners who are older or disabled. GRTC has upgraded all of its riders to Transit Royale, a new subscription service in transit. GRTC riders now have access to a free Royale subscription, which unlocks additional features, special GRTC branding, new customization options, and complete access to the app across the more than 300 cities supported worldwide. T-Mobile recently upgraded 5G service across nearly 32,000 square miles of Virginia – including Henrico County – and that service now covers nearly 97 percent of Virginians. Since 2021, T-Mobile has added more than 900 new towers and upgraded more than 1,500 existing towers across the state to expand its 5G coverage footprint as well as increase capacity.  T-Mobile has plans for continued new installations and upgrades to existing towers by the end of 2023 to further boost capacity and data speeds. Henrico School Board Chair and Brookland District member Kristi Kinsella and Tuckahoe District member Marcie Shea both are running unopposed for reelection to the board.
