Two Richmond International Airport TSA officers were in the middle of a security operation at the airport recently when they jumped into action after seeing an airline pilot suddenly collapse. Their actions saved his life; the pilot had suffered cardiac arrest. Henrico County resident Beth Kreydatus works with students in an environmental studies group at Varina High School who serve as peer mentors to Montrose Elementary School students. Henrico County Public Schools will explore moving forward testing weapons detectors over metal detectors, administrators announced during Thursday's monthly school board meeting. Superintendent Dr. Amy Cashwell said the move is part of the district's layered safety approach, which she said administrators are continually evaluating and supplementing. The Pet Poison Helpline reported an increase nationwide and in Virginia of calls concerning cannabis poisoning in household pets. “We’ve had a really significant increase on the number of calls that we’ve had of exposures over the last two or three years, especially,” said Dr. Rennee Schmid. Schmid is a senior veterinary toxicologist and manager of veterinary medicine and professional services for the national Pet Poison Helpline. Two seventh-graders were issued juvenile violations for their role in a prank that prompted an "active shooter" police response at Holman Middle School in Glen Allen Tuesday afternoon. Henrico Police said the students, one male and one female, were identified through their investigation. They were both issued juvenile violation reports (JVR) for falsely summoning law enforcement, which is a class one misdemeanor, police said.
