The Henrico Planning Commission March 9 endorsed plans for a multi-family residential community in Northern Henrico of as many as 186 units that would include three-story and four-story residential buildings, an office and clubhouse, an amenity area, parking, and a field of solar panels. An updated version of the proposal contained some new conditions that had been submitted earlier in the day, with the commission waiving the normal review period. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Richmond was recently ranked the number 24 Walk in the United States, with participants raising 2,649 to fund Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs. On Nov. 4, more than 1,000 residents walked at the annual event at Libbie Mill Midtown. Marvin Eugene Bogar, Sr., 80, of Henrico, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayselett and Chessie Bogar; two sons, Marvin, Jr. and Ronnie; brother, Garland; sister, Betty; and wives, Mary and Chris. Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced a large-scale effort Wednesday to address learning loss among Virginia students due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan includes launching a grant program for qualifying families to cover extra educational expenses and a web tool to provide comprehensive data on student learning for parents and teachers. Herbert "Herb" Ernest Sigmund made his arrival in this world on May 21, 1946, the oldest of four children born to Edward Frederick Sigmund and Louise (Burkman) Sigmund-Rider of Varina and made his journey on Friday, March 3, 2023, at McGuire Veterans Hospital.
