Three football facilities at Varina High School will be renamed in the fall, and school officials are asking for the public’s input.  Two names have been recommended: the James E. Dawkins Stadium and the Woodrow G. Sanderford Field House.  These proposed honorees are beloved VHS alumni who also served as dedicated employees for decades. Our Lady of Hope Health Center is asking local residents for help in creating summer survival kits for local seniors in need through Commonwealth Catholic Charities. “It will be a wonderful summer surprise and is sure to bring smiles and uplift spirits,” said Diane Hargraves, the independence for seniors case worker at CCC. ECPI University, a private college with two campuses in Henrico, has implemented a digital vaccine passport system.  The Virginia-based college rolled out its own digital vaccination certificate, dubbed “VAX PASS,” to easily identify students and staff who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The digital pass allows vaccinated people to move swiftly past screening stations that otherwise would take temperatures and ask health questions.
