Henrico County will host its first walk-up COVID-19 vaccination event for the general public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 30 in the Old Dominion Building at Richmond Raceway, 600 E. Laburnum Ave. Anyone 18 and older who lives in Henrico County or the city of Richmond are eligible to be vaccinated without an appointment. The Henrico Board of Supervisors Tuesday night authorized a .1-million contract with Kenbridge Construction Co., Inc. for the construction of a baseball stadium at Dorey Park to replace existing Field 5 at the complex. A man is in critical condition after being shot outside the Bunge plant in Sandston April 27. The shooting happened shortly before 2:20 p.m. in the parking lot of the plant at 1595 Mary Street, adjacent to I-64. First-responding Henrico Police officers provided aid to the victim until medical crews arrived. The man was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. Police reported that the shooting didn’t appear to be an act of violence toward employees or the employer. The plant was allowed to remain open as police investigated.
