Some sports and entertainment venues in Virginia will be able to host more visitors and spectators beginning April 1, following Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s amendment Tuesday of an executive order. Virginia Governor Ralph Northam Tuesday signed an executive order aimed at reducing Virginia’s reliance on single-use plastics, which pollute waterways, harm fish and wildlife, and take up space in landfills. The Cultural Arts Center of Glen Allen kicked off its 2021 season with a performance March 21 by Richmond artist Susan Greenbaum, who entertained a socially distanced audience of about 150 spectators with a mix of covers and original songs. GRTC has reported its 68th case of COVID-19 among an employee. The person was the 63rd employee to test positive but has not been at GRTC in several months and does not interact with the public. The employee is quarantining at home. There is one other active COVID case among GRTC employees. All GRTC staff are now eligible to voluntarily receive the COVID-19 vaccine and are currently being contacted for appointments.Article Link

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam announced recently that more than million in Homeless Reduction Grants has been awarded through the Virginia Housing Trust Fund for 38 projects – including in Henrico – throughout the state. Henrico County reported 41 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, according to the Virginia Department of Health, reflecting a nationwide plateau of the virus. The county's seven-day average number of new daily cases is 56. There was one new hospitalization and no new deaths related to the virus in Henrico, according to VDH data. Henrico Police are seeking the man who robbed a Willow Lawn-area business and then stole an employee's car earlier this month. On March 3 at 7:39 p.m., police were called to a dog daycare business in the 4900 block of West Marshall Street, where a white male suspect had reportedly stolen money and the vehicle belonging to an employee. The suspect changed clothes after the robbery, according to images released by police (above). Henrico Police officials are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect in two commercial burglaries that occurred March 14. In both cases, a suspect entered the business when it was closed, in the early-morning hours. The first incident occurred in the 5000 block of Cabela Drive at about 1:30 a.m., and the second nearly two hours later in the 6000 block of West Broad Street. The suspect is male, wearing all dark clothing and gloves.
