Ash lives rurally with her husband Chris and daughter Lilly. She not only supports her husband to run their rural business, but she helps run their farm just outside of Bendemeer. Not traditionally a country girl Ash has thrown herself into her rural community and credits their love and support for getting her family through some of the tougher times. There will be so many rural women nodding to this remark, and it is so true that our love of the bush is deeply connected to the communities we live in, the people, essentially our ‘herd’.
Ash’s pregnancy was not without complications and required her to make additional travel to be monitor, but it wasn’t until the beautiful Lilly was earth side that the ‘fun’ really began.
What is clear to me is that Ash Chris and Lilly are a team, and without the love and support of particularly Chris she would not have made it through.
Ash is a powerhouse, driven to share her story so that she might be able to make others going through something similar feel less alone. We just had to help and share her story to our rural community.
Ash, Chris, and Lilly thank you so much for sharing your journey with us.
Ash sought support through a FB page, and she wanted us to make sure to highlight this community for other stoma mums out there, she is also more than happy to be a creative solution or a shoulder or any rural parents navigating this. What a woman.
