Eighteen months ago, Vikki founded She SUPs, an all-women’s stand-up paddleboarding community focused on empowering women through SUP adventures. She SUPs is all about encouraging women and girls of all skill levels and backgrounds to get out on the water, and share the joy of nature. It’s also about creating a strong supportive community of women, who inspire each other, and who gain lots of mental and physical benefits that come from being on the water.
This week, Kym and Judith chat to Vikki about how she became hooked on paddling and how it helped her process working in a toxic corporate environment, visa struggles, loneliness, being away from family and living with anxiety. We find out how through kayaking and SUP Vikki gained strength, learnt new skills and went on to start She SUPs, and along the way made lots of friends and a strong community of SUP-loving followers.
