In this raw and real episode, Anna unpacks the unexpected side effects of healing — the panic, the sabotage, and the sheer fear that can come when you’re finally moving out of survival mode. She shares how recent shifts in her life have triggered her subconscious to freak out and slam the brakes, leading to anxiety, exhaustion, and even physical illness.
But instead of backing down, Anna dives into the idea that our subconscious doesn’t always see healing as safe — and how sometimes, we have to stop whispering and start fighting back with fierce energy and intention. She explores the choices we face when the fear kicks in — do we collapse into bed rot, or do we rise and keep going?
She also reimagines the myth of Icarus — not as a cautionary tale of flying too high, but as a story of what it really means to live, to choose flight, even when the wiring in our minds says it’s too dangerous.
This is your reminder: don’t fear the shift. Don’t fear the life you actually want.

This week, I’m sharing a huge personal breakthrough: discovering the power of cyclical living.
Until recently, I believed I was just “bad” at the 9-5 life – like I’d somehow failed at what everyone else seemed to manage. But after diving into Kate Northrup’s work, I’ve realised the traditional workweek was literally built for men’s 24-hour cycles – not women’s 28-day cycles.
For years, I only tracked my period so I could brace myself for PMS – but now I’m finally understanding the why behind my energy shifts, brain fog, burnout, and PMDD symptoms.
And guess what? Ignoring my body and pushing through with guilt and shame was actually making it worse.
I also touch on the energy of the moon and how it connects to our cycles, and share a brilliant app I’ve found called Stardust (seriously, it’s a game-changer – plus your partner can track your cycle too!). https://stardust.app/
This is a whole new way of living for me, and I’m so excited to share this discovery with you. Let’s start honouring ourselves instead of fighting our natural rhythms.
“If this episode hit home for you, I would love to hear about it. Send me a DM and let’s chat about your experience with cyclical living – or even if you’re just starting to track your cycle for the first time!
And if you found this episode helpful, it would mean the world if you screenshot it and share it to your stories, and don’t forget to tag me so I can cheer you on! Let’s rise together, one cycle at a time.”

In this juicy episode, I dive deep into the real reason so many women struggle to take care of themselves without guilt or shame. I share my own self-care evolution—from getting my nails done and wearing perfume to reading audiobooks, swimming, and having a cuppa in the bath. Yep, self-care isn’t just bubble baths (though they’re bloody lovely)—it’s also about doing what you enjoy and making your life easier with things like automation, online shopping, and Pinterest inspo.
We explore why genuine self-care makes you stand out (because let’s be honest, most people don’t do it consistently), why shame is a sneaky little gremlin in the mix, and how to build self-care into your routine in a way that actually works. I also give you a heads-up: as you grow and start showing up differently, people might have things to say—but don’t let that stop you.
Come for the practical tips, stay for the soul-nourishing pep talk.

In this episode, I dive into the one thing that can help us break free from suffering for good. The truth is, pain is a natural part of life—but suffering? That’s a choice. I explore how trying to control the actions of others or predicting future pain only keeps us stuck in survival mode, prolonging the hurt instead of moving through it.
Drawing on personal experiences—like being dumped as a teenager—I discuss how accepting pain as it comes, rather than trying to manipulate or resist it, actually allows us to heal faster. When we stop focusing on controlling others to avoid hurt or trying to prevent the inevitable, we stop living in suffering mode and start living fully.
By embracing the idea that pain doesn’t last forever, we open up space for growth, resilience, and freedom. Tune in to hear how you can stop wasting energy on suffering and start using it to live your best life!

In this episode, we dive deep into the idea that not all emotions are useful or natural—some, like shame and hate, are more like processed junk food, designed by society to keep us small, controlled, and unwell. We explore how shame shows up in our lives, how it’s linked to abuse, and why simply recognising it is the first step to breaking free.
I also discuss other “junk food” emotions—like toxic positivity, fake kindness, self-sacrifice, sentimentality, and the “just get over it” culture—that might seem harmless (or even helpful) but are actually keeping us stuck. Instead of force-feeding ourselves these emotions, what if we learned to sit with them, call them out, and shift to something real?
If you’ve ever felt suffocated by shame or exhausted from emotional manipulation, this episode will help you start unpacking it all. Let’s get real about the emotions we’ve been conditioned to feel—and start choosing something better.
🎧 Listen now and let’s detox together! 💫

Are you silently struggling with PMDD, anxiety, or depression? You’re not alone. In this raw episode of the Her Shift podcast, Anna shares her personal story of living with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) while maintaining a “perfect” exterior. Ever noticed how actors become their roles, carrying a presence that makes them unmistakably the main character? Or how some people walk into a room and instantly command attention—without even trying? In this episode, we’re diving into Main Character Energy and how you can step into confidence, rather than waiting for it to magically appear.
Drawing from my own experience of effortlessly landing coveted jobs (like a Qantas air hostess position out of 15,000 applicants!), I break down the mindset shifts that make all the difference—how I walked into interviews assuming the job was already mine, how I controlled the energy of the room, and how you can apply this same "job interview energy" to every area of your life.
You'll learn:
✨ Why actors need therapy after heavy roles—and what that teaches us about our own energy shifts
✨ The red carpet effect—how celebrities curate their presence, and how you can do the same
✨ The exact confidence tricks I used to ace interviews (that you can use in social events, networking, dating, and beyond!)
✨ The secret to walking into any situation thinking “Do I like them?” instead of “Do they like me?”
✨ How to act like you already have it—because when you do, the world starts treating you like you do
Confidence isn’t something you wait for—it’s something you step into. Ready to own your space? Let’s go. 🔥

Ever felt irrationally annoyed by someone’s behaviour? Turns out, those extreme reactions are often more than just irritation—they’re actually trauma responses. In this episode, I unpack why certain behaviours, like indecisiveness, helplessness, or public displays of emotion, trigger such strong feelings in me.
I share personal stories—from dealing with an overly dependent person in my inbox to why Princess Diana’s death unexpectedly pissed me off. We explore how past experiences shape our responses and how hyper-independence, while a strength, can sometimes be a defense mechanism.
Most importantly, I dive into how to recognize and untangle trauma responses, so we can choose ease, trust, and support—without feeling like we’re losing ourselves.
In This Episode, We Cover:
✔️ When frustration is actually a trauma response
✔️ How hyper-independence is often a survival mechanism
✔️ Why indecisiveness, helplessness, and grief can be triggering
✔️ The paradox of loving independence and craving support
✔️ Steps to recognize and reframe extreme reactions

What does it really mean to go all in? This week, I’m breaking down the concept of "Going Full NASCAR"—inspired by the insane move in a race where a driver floored it, rode the wall, and jumped from 14th to 2nd place. His words? "I’m going to floor it until I see God or the checkered flag." It got me thinking…
For so long, I thought going all in meant being trapped—whether in a job, a relationship, or a promise. I believed commitment meant suffering through, no matter how much pain it caused. But now, I see that going full NASCAR for women is different. It’s about dropping the mask, speaking your truth, and pursuing your dreams without holding back—but also knowing when to walk away without guilt.
In this episode, I’ll share how my definition of "all in" has shifted, why loyalty doesn’t mean losing yourself, and how you can apply this to your life—whether in love, work, or healing.
🚀 Where in your life have you been doing the old version of full NASCAR? And how can you step into the new one? DM me or share your thoughts—I’d love to hear!
I hope you enjoyed this episode and that recovery and change is possible.

Last night, something happened that I’ve never truly experienced before—I allowed myself to be completely vulnerable, with no agenda, no expectation, and no need for a response. Just raw, unfiltered truth. And in that moment, I realized… this is a superpower.
In this episode, I share how terrifying it was to sit down and record this—because irony of ironies, even talking about unattached vulnerability made me want to shape the message in a way that would be received well. But this? This is the real, messy, uncomfortable, liberating truth.
I dive into:
✨ The difference between true vulnerability and sharing with an agenda
✨ How we subtly try to control conversations (even in casual gossip!)
✨ The fear of being fully seen—and why it’s so hard to let go of expectations
✨ How we can step into this superpower more often
If you’ve ever felt like your emotions or words need to be “managed” so people respond the way you want… this episode is for you. 💖
👉 Listen now and let’s explore what happens when we stop performing and start being.
I hope you enjoyed this episode and that recovery and change is possible.

Her Worth is a podcast about her worth, wealth, money, freedom, and everything women were never taught.
Not a finance podcast. A freedom podcast. Money comes up constantly,…
Each week, Anna Pearce-Roberts takes one thing women are told not to worry about — the pension, the credit score, the mental load, the career break, the fresh start — names it plainly, strips out the jargon, and gives you the real version. Plain English. Real stories. From a woman who has lived most of it.
Anna is 45, from the North East of England, and has built businesses, run a household and learned almost all of it the expensive way. She has also spent years talking openly about PMDD, perimenopause and trauma recovery, and those episodes are all still here — because the same thread runs through every one of them. What happens to a woman nobody handed the manual to.
Because financial freedom and personal freedom are the same conversation. Because a woman who knows exactly where she stands can stay or go on her own terms. And because understanding the stuff nobody taught you isn't just useful. It's power.
Your self-worth has nothing to do with the size of your bank account. But let's be overflowing in both.
New episodes weekly. The tools, the free folder and the weekly letter are all at hershift.com.
Don't trust the process. Fluffing understand it.
