Her Solid Ground

Far too often, we allow the lies of this world to impact the choices we make and the mindsets we hold. Even when we know God’s truth, we can fall into false beliefs about ourselves and what God expects of us. We may even try to live up to memes we’ve created in our minds—images and standards that are unrealistic and maybe even unbiblical. When Jesus asks us to love others, He doesn’t want us to reduce it to a “check box” item on our “Love To-Do List.” He wants us to genuinely love others as we love ourselves. In this episode, Ali and Lisa talk about seeing the person in front of us from God’s perspective and how that helps us move away from destructive habits like gossip and judgment, and instead, positions us to authentically love and care for our sisters in Christ.

Being vulnerable is uncomfortable, isn’t it? Saying phrases like “I’m fine” is much easier than admitting how we truly feel, especially in community. But God calls us to share our burdens with Him and with others. We were not designed to do this life alone. In this episode, Ali and Lisa talk about how we can find the balance of when to share, when not to share, and more importantly, our true source of hope and comfort when we are not fine at all.
