8. ​What are the strengths and weaknesses of classical apologetics compared to other apologetic approaches? How does it address the challenges and criticisms raised against it?
9. ​What steps (please illustrate or give a real-life encounter example) should a believer take during an encounter with an atheist who believes that there is not enough evidence to believe that God exists. 
10. ​How should respond to those who say that since natural theology does not reveal the Triune God, therefore any idea that the unbelievers have about God is not an idol?
11. ​In your course, you provided 5 basic assumptions (existence, causality, analogy, logic, basic reliability of sense perception). How would you respond when they say that classicalists wanted to presuppose other things except God?

In this podcast episode, we discussed how Christian apologetics work, specifically and primarily for setting apart Christ as Lord.

Christian apologetics is founded upon the Lordship of Christ. His Lordship is supreme. People have to bow down to the Lordship of Christ. Christians must point people to who Christ is as declared in the Scriptures.

Setting apart Christ as Lord in our hearts enables us to engage in apologetics from a standpoint of relaxed diplomacy and friendly curiosity.

In apologetics, we do not advance ourselves, but Christ.

This is the first official podcast of our apologetics ministry, Herald of Grace Apologetics. As a starter, we answered the question, “What is Apologetics?”

The word apologetics comes from the Greek term ἀπολογία, which refers to a speech made in defense of something. In the New Testament, it is used eight (8) times and it can be found in the following passages,

Act 22:1  “Brothers and fathers, hear the defense that I now make before you.” 

1Co 9:3  “This is my defense to those who would examine me.” 

2 Tim 4:16  “At my first defense no one came to stand by me, but all deserted me. May it not be charged against them!” 

1 Peter 3:15  But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, 

Taking these passages together, apologetics is the Art of Christian Persuasion.

The term apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia, which literally means “a reasoned statement or a verbal defense.”… The work of apologetics rests upon a biblical command. We find a mandate in Scripture to defend the faith, a mandate that every Christian must take seriously… We are exhorted in this passage to stand ready in case anyone asks us to give a reason for our hope as Christians. This, Peter declares, is one way we regard Jesus as the holy Lord. Secondly, notice the ethical emphasis in verse 16: we are to answer all inquiries—even the abusive ones—with gentleness and respect, so that those who revile Christians as evildoers might be ashamed.In this passage we see the reason for and importance of engaging in the task of apologetics.
