June 24, 2023#38 GARDEN DESIGN WITH YOUR CLIMATE ZONE IN MIND - KOPPEN CLIMATE CLASSIFICATION ๐ฅ๐ช๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธSend us a textKC schooled Sam about the Koppen climate classification system on this one.Keen gardeners everywhere should take the time to learn the nuances of climate classification with the Koppen system. Why you might ask?Well, by understanding climate classification, you can build out the main bedrock of your garden designs with superbly well-adapted species of plants; saving yourself a tonne of time, money and resources in the process. For example, once you understand that Perth experiences a CLASSIC Mediterranean climate, with long dry summers and short wet winters (such as greece and portugal)You may be inclined to plant hedges such as dwarf olives and caper bushes, rather than rhododendrons and azaleas. Great to think about!Enjoy gardeners.KOPPEN CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMKรถppen climate classification - WikipediaROBERT FINNIE - Amazing designer who bases his designs on the Koppen classification system.Robert Finnie DesignSupport the showEnjoying the show?Follow us on Instagram @herbyourenthusismpodSupport the podcast at buymeacoffee.com/sambeckforO ...more41minPlay
