HERE COMES THE BACKKLASH episodes

  • BRUISEFIST💥👊

    POOLHOUSE PRESENTS…BRUISEFIST:

Poolhouse delivers his most explosive and genre-defying creation yet with BRUISEFIST, a transgressive pop-art performance disguised as a digital dub radio gothic, disguised as an “ordinary” episode of HERE COMES THE BACKKLASH, disguised as a Poolhouse bit RUN AMOK. 💥👊

In BRUISEFIST, Poolhouse delivers a monologue that becomes a dialogue with the machine, and then, the cyborg. But isn’t that really just talking to yourself the whole time? BRUISEFIST & BRUISEFIIST are the first few scenes in a living play, the story of a Man and His Beloved that he seeks to resurrect through cybernetic ritual.

    ‘BRUISEFIST’

    a digital dub radio gothic

It was a dark and stormy night in the Backklash studio when your favorite pop-art producer and talk show host finally SNAPPED. Amidst a routine Friday night recording, Dr. Rev. DJ POOLHOUSE had had enough. Frustrated by the world's failure to recognize his creative genius, he turned to the forbidden arts—cyber-demonology and extraterrestrial technology.

Taking to the airwaves, Poolhouse unveils his artistic manifesto, describing the psychic entity haunting his dreams: BRUISEFIST. Guided by transmissions from a familiar phantom, he recounts the birth of a strange and powerful new creation—his art-official/artificial Artificial Intelligence™ oracle.

Fusing the daimonic, the demonic, the digital, and the divine, BRUISEFIST is both sermon and spectacle, a revelation on the cosmic nature of man and the creative potential of technological art. Poolhouse’s signature cosmology is unconventional, electric, and utterly undeniable. 💥👊

  • Ep. 73: 2.0 feat. Basil [@BasilianThought]

Poolhouse joins forces with Basil (aka BasilianThought), the “anti-leftist Marxist” and provocative host of BareBactrian. Together, they dive into the tangled intersections of post-post-left-post-dissident-right media markets—aka “2.0”—unpacking the findom-esque, exploitative dynamics inherent in social media’s “dissident” discourse, culture, and currency, as well as the uncanny futures of mediated reality. With sharp wit and incisive insight, Poolhouse and Basil peel back the layers of media culture’s subtextual forces, delivering a cosmic punch of critique that’s as hilarious as it is mind-bending.

“2.0” is a high-octane, rapid-fire auto-dialogical mixtape, in which our intrepid hosts dissect the commodification of identity, the seductive power of the online social economy, and the recursive relationships between technology, desire, media, and control. This episode is GIVING the Gaze™ everything it needed. “2.0” hits like a mainline dose of barebackklash electrifying critique of postmodern culture that’s equal parts unsettling, hilarious, and utterly unmissable.

Never sharper nor more relevant, “2.0,” Poolhouse and Basil deliver an electrifying entry into the ongoing backklash alchemical audio samizdat, a pop art talk show product arriving readymade for anyone ready to break the cycle of passive consumption and reclaim agency in an increasingly mediated and disposable world world–aka, people who Get It.

  • Ep. 72: OCTO-INFERNO feat. Detty [@0ddette]

In this special Backklash INAUGURATION DAY spectacular, Poolhouse welcomes fan-favorite Detty back to the program. As the body politic realigns around new axes and protocols, the kind of honest and incisive commentary that only anons like Detty and Poolhouse can provide has never been more in demand. Amidst the tectonic shift in the Executive Branch toward the tech-right, Los Angeles has erupted in flames, sparking controversy and concern over who—or what—is truly in power across legislatures and municipalities nationwide.

How exactly is one supposed to navigate the day-to-day as we become increasingly aware of the octolectical machinations of the global business system? Where can we look for guidance as the vapors of this brave new world begin to percolate, and the everyday consumer starts to feel like a boiling frog in the downstream effects of automation, financial manipulation, and relentless propaganda?

Poolhouse and Detty deliver another of their signature mind-expanding voyages into the shadow of the American psyche in this white-hot edition of HERE COMES THE BACKKLASH.

  • OCTOLEC_TECH

Frustrated by X’s sinister Algo and its ability to harsh his mellow, crush his vibe, and just generally suppress his ass, Poolhouse is on a poster’s strike from Princess Elon’s free speech platform! For this special broadcast, Our Beloved Doctor Reverend Deejay had planned to take to the airwaves in order to screech autistically about his discontent with the state of the public square.

But as Poolhouse placed his radio shades over his head and dialed into Swim City frequency, he received a much higher and more benevolent vibration from all of you backklashistas who are remote viewing in the aether from across space and time. Armed with a patriot’s ire and coming at you from this other oligarch’s “Free speech” platform, Poolhouse delivers a REVELATORY exposition of the the role of Tech within the octolectical cosmology. This is far from some takecel’s shadowbanned bitch sesh–this is a sermon with a constructive, self-reflexive message about reclaiming the God-given communication infrastructure of the cosmos. Join your favorite iconoclastic pop art disco shock jock DR. REV. DJ POOLHOUSE, as he unveils a new layer his alluring Octolectical framework. Plus: what’s ice reggae got to do with it?

  • Ep. 71: FROM THE ATTIC TO THE STAIRCASE [feat. @GeyInterrupted]

    MY SWEET AUDRINA (1982)

    FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC (1979)

    THE STAIRCASE (2004)

The Disappearance of Tara Calico (1988 missing person, unsolved)

    Complete show notes: https://backklash.substack.com/p/episode-71

V.C. Andrews wasn’t just a literary phenomenon; she was an iconic and influential contributor to the 1980s cultural zeitgeist. Her smash-hit novels Flowers in the Attic (1979) and My Sweet Audrina (1982) catapulted her into the upper echelon of brand-name novelists and positioned her as a pioneer in the nascent Young Adult Fiction market. Andrews’ lurid tales of forbidden lust, youthful despair, elite imposters, and shocking family secrets made her a household name and crowned her the reigning queen of the American Gothic novel. Her eccentric signature style, turbocharged with yearning and designed to pull readers into gripping dramas where innocence—both of her heroines and her readers—was unmade, remains unforgettable.

By the mid-1980s and well into the 2000s, V.C. Andrews was a name recognizable on bookshelves across the nation. But who was she, really? Even during her lifetime—which ended in 1986, only a few short years into her late-blooming literary success—little was known about the mysterious author. Decades later, many fans weren’t even aware she had died. Through the prolific work of her ghostwriter, Andrew Neiderman, her name continued to grace dozens of bestsellers. Yet the woman herself remained an enigma. Was there any truth to the long-whispered rumor that Andrews’ deliciously dark tales—infamous for their scenes of violence against children and themes of incest—were based on true events?

In this gripping edition of HERE COMES THE BACKKLASH, Poolhouse and Q (Thots & Prayers, Twink Death) take a plunge into the seedy underbelly of the American mythos in a revealing discussion about the life and works of V.C. Andrews, the dark secret of American YA fiction. The boys guide us through the crumbling, sprawling manor of the V.C. Andrews legend—up the creaky, blood-splattered staircase to that fateful attic where so many secrets are kept: the secrets of the author, her works, and American life itself.

  • Ep. 70: BACKKLASH OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY 2024 feat. Kellock [@Kellockx]

GM BRO, and Merry Christmas! Poolhouse welcomes his dear online pal, Canadian nationalist sidekick, and backklash super-fan Kellock to the program–as we add one more honorific to Kellock’s CV: Backklash Christmas Secretary 2024. Assuming the role from beloved outgoing Backklash Christmas Secretary 2023, Ms. Cassandra aka truth_enjoyer, Kellock levels up the office with a bold proposal: what if we moved Christmas Day?

Given how late in the season this holiday episode is dropping, it may not be such a bad idea!

But before we get deep into the backklash office holiday party festivities, Poolhouse and his absolutely darling guest dive into the year in bops: who was GIVING this year? Who needs to be TAKEN AWAY? Kellock drops a controversial take for his artist of the year, but Poolhouse, not one to be outdone, ups the ante with an even more polarizing choice for BACKKLASH MAN OF THE YEAR 2024.

Poolhouse and Kellock, committed to making the yuletide as gay as humanly possible, also delve into some personal housewives-adjacent lore, and Poolie reveals a glimpse of his secret origins, which are intimately tied a reactionary group of rabid Bravo fans & detractors known as The Thunderdome.

PLUS dissecting the natue of Canadian celebrity, we receive Christmas greetings from a few of your favorite backklash all-stars, adult contemporary revivalism, Old Spaghetti Factory nationalism, and Poolhouse finally gets to the bottom of whether Anne of Green Gables would have been better off in one of those residential schools for native children.

  • Ep. 69: MEN AGAINST TIME! [feat. @aGnonSIS)

Much ink has been spilled about Donald J. Trump, the 45th–and soon to be 47th–US President. He is one of the most famous men in history. And yet, so often when Trump is being discussed, we are seldom ever talking about the man himself.

Donald Trump is arguably the most iconic American folk hero since Paul Bunyon, and but his mythic status and the media spectacle that surrounds him casts a glare over the icon himself. He is somehow the most visible & transparent figure on earth, and yet he is an enigma. Supporters and detractors alike seem to relish in projecting their fears and desires onto this larger than life, flame-colored human canvas.

Beyond pop psychology and the biographical trivia, who is the actual man in question when we speak about “The Donald?” What force animates him, what is it about him that inspires either fanatical devotion or slavish contempt in the hearts of men? What is the nature of his soul?

Whip-smart and supremely based anon aGnonSIS joins Poolhouse for an ultra-cosmic voyage of the backklash variety, one that delves beyond Trump’s spectacular veneer, and plumbs the unconscious depths of the mythic, in search of the substance that fuels the legendary figure named Donald Trump.

    CARL JUNG ON WOTAN (1936)

    https://www.philosopher.eu/others-writings/essay-on-wotan-w-nietzsche-c-g-jung/

Carl Jung, writing on Nietzsche, uses the concept of Wotan (also known as Odin), to explore the psychic undercurrents beneath the sweeping rise of National Socialism in Germany:

Jung sees the resurgence of the spirit of Wotan as the animus behind National Socialism, a force which he speculates was not repudiated but merely in temporary retreat (“reculer pour mieux sauter” - to draw back in order to make a better jump)

Meanwhile, Savitri Devi essentially sums up her entire thesis with her poetic dedication contained in the first pages of THE LIGHTNING AND THE SUN:

  • PRODUCT PLACEMENTS//AUDIO TESTS

    DJ POOLHOUSE is UNDER ATTACKK.

Sag season got off to a fiery start this Thanksgiving week, when powerful Poolhouse haters - the ones who dwell deep inside the wheels within wheels of power, in the inner sanctums of the dreaded OCTOLECTIC, or the World Enterprise - launched an armed audio assault on Splish Kklash Studios. The mainframe has been hacked!

But do you really think an ILLUSTRIOUS and VISIONARY pop art *producer* like DJ POOLHOUSE is one to let several false starts mired by strange, persistent hackery stop him from bringing the show to YOU, his beloved backklashista (yes, YOU!) audience of Remote Viewers? Of course not!

Armed with nothing but his tape splicer, two turntables, and a (literally hacked) microphone … and of course, his singular GENIUS … 2.0 superstar DJ POOLHOUSE fights fire with fire by striking backk against the sound system subterfuge that his phantom Octolectician foes waged against him.

In PRODUCT PLACEMENTS//AUDIO TESTS, DJ POOLHOUSE uses incisive wit, and sacred skills, as he transmutes lemons into psychedelic lemonade in this Burroughsian cutup, audio Moebius strip of an episode - the latest installment in his ongoing audio manifesto, the pop art shock jock meets feet beat mixtape manifesto called HERE COMES THE BACKKLASH.
