God deserves to be glorified for providing the only means for our peace with Him.
Key Verse: "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
Jesus is the Prince of Peace because:
1. We can have peace with God through Him.
Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Colossians 1:19-20 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
2. He’s the only one that can make peace with God and man.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,
Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
3. We can be peace makers through Him in us.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.
1. De Dios.
Hebreos 1:1-2 Dios, habiendo hablado muchas veces y de muchas maneras en otro tiempo a los padres por los profetas, en estos postreros días nos ha hablado por el Hijo, a quien constituyó heredero de todo, y por quien asimismo hizo el universo;
Juan 1:12 Mas a todos los que le recibieron, a los que creen en su nombre, les dio potestad de ser hechos hijos de Dios;
God’s good news of salvation brings glory to His holy name.
Key Verse: Luke 2:10-11 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.
The news is of great joy because it is:
Serving God joyfully brings Him honor and glory.
Key Verse: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters... Colossians 3:23
We can serve with joy because we:
God is glorified when Christians are wholly committed to serving Him.
Key Verse: “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
1. You appreciate what you have (Joshua 24:13)
2. You forsake idols around you (Joshua 24:14)
3. You serve God as he deserves (Joshua 24:15)
As children of God, we get to glorify Him forever for His amazing faithfulness.
Key Verse: "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23
God’s Faithfulness is amazing because it:
1. Makes Him trustworthy. (Galatians 3:6 – Abraham believed God…)
2. Makes His word dependable. (Galatians 3:8 – In you all the nations shall be blessed)
3. Makes our salvation possible. (Galatians 3:13 – Christ has redeemed us)
4. Makes our new life enjoyable. (Galatians 3:14 – "...that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."
